Komander Reportedly Suffered Potential Injury at Indie Event
Komander reportedly suffered a potential injury at an indie event this past Thursday, according to Post Wrestling.
John Pollock reported that Komander worked at an event for Demand Lucha this past Thursday in Toronto, Canada. Komander had been originally advertised for the show but was then later announced by Demand Lucha to have been pulled due to a travel-related issue at the time.
Komander made his surprise appearance during the main event match between Arez and Gringo Loco turning the match into an impromptu three-way. Komander suffered the potential injury following a moonsault spot resulting in Komander holding his knee and requiring medical assistance. Komander was taken to the back for additional treatment and did not return.
One person who attended the event stated that Komander had attempted to return but was seen limping badly and was unable to do so in the end.
More on Roderick Strong’s Surprise Debut in AEW
As noted before, this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Sunrise, Florida featured former WWE NXT talent Roderick Strong making his official debut for AEW.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Strong’s contract with WWE had actually expired this past November. The reason why this was kept hidden reportedly was due to WWE’s current policy of not announcing departures from their NXT brand. Johnson reported that Strong’s departure managing to fly under the radar was also due to it not being a release and instead his contract had simply ended.
AEW officials reportedly planned for Strong’s debut to be timed after Adam Cole’s return from injury and for it to take place at a show in Florida. The reason reportedly was due to Florida being where Strong currently lives in and to also prevent him from being spotted traveling and blowing the surprise of his debut ahead of time.
AEW Senior VP Megha Parekh on Decision to Hold AEW All In at Wembley Stadium
A recent episode of the The A2theK Wrestling Show podcast had AEW Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Megha Parekh as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Parekh’s thoughts on AEW’s decision to hold their upcoming All In event at Wembley Stadium instead of at a smaller venue.
“The Jaguars were one of the first teams and have consistently played over in London at Wembley for a long time. Tony felt really strongly that the market would show up. That’s the incredible thing about working for him. He is a fearless leader in that sense. ‘If we’re going to do it, let’s go for the biggest possible venue.’ We, luckily, do have some familiarity with the operations of Wembley from being there as part of the Jags games. We’ll be able to have the knowledge of what that building can support and set it up for AEW. Our production team is working through it right now in terms of all the details. I’m so excited for AEW’s growth over the last four years. I never would have thought it would have launched and been as successful as it is. It survived as a live events business through COVID and then getting back on the road and continued to grow. We always try to look ahead and see what we can do and what we can expand, but it’s pretty incredible what has been built over the last several years.”
