Three New Official Matches Added to NXT Stand & Deliver 2023
Tuesday’s NXT show featured three new matches officially added to the card of WWE’s NXT Stand & Deliver 2023 event on April 1st at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
The first new match announced was a Ladder match for the NXT Women’s Championship. During the show, NXT head booker Shawn Michaels announced that due to Roxanne Perez’s injury situation following last week’s show and her status for Stand & Deliver 2023 being “still in question”, they might need to “possibly” crown a new NXT Women’s Champion at the event. Michaels also announced that qualifying matches would be taking place starting with Tuesday’s show. The first two qualifying matches saw Zoey Stark defeating Sol Ruca and Gigi Dolin defeating Kiana James.
The second new match announced was a NXT Women’s Tag Team match of Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn vs. Fallon Henley & Kiana James (c). Fyre and Dawn earned their shot for the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles following their win against Diamond Mine (Tatum Paxley & Ivy Nile) and Kayden Carter & Katana Chance in a #1 Contender’s Triple Threat match. During the match Paxley refused a tag by her tag team partner Nile and later attacked her leading to the match’s finish and Fyre & Dawn’s victory.

The third and final new match added was a Fatal Five-way match for the NXT North American Championship. During the show, Wes Lee held a new open challenge match for his North American title resulting in an out of control mass brawl taking place causing Lee’s scheduled match to be called off. In a follow up backstage segment, Lee angrily demanded to face 10 wrestlers from NXT’s locker room for his match at Stand & Deliver 2023. Shawn Michaels rejected his request stating that it was too many people but offered Lee four opponents of his choice for a Fatal Five-way match instead.

Pretty Deadly Announced as Hosts of NXT Stand & Deliver 2023
Tuesday’s NXT show also featured the announcement of Pretty Deadly, Elton Prince and Kit Wilson, as the official hosts for NXT Stand & Deliver 2023 on April 1st in Los Angeles, California.
During a backstage interview segment on the show, Prince and Wilson gave their thoughts about their tag team loss earlier to Gallus preventing them from securing a match at NXT Stand & Deliver 2023. Prince and Wilson then came up with the idea of becoming the official hosts of the event to guarantee their spots on the show. WWE later confirmed that Prince and Wilson are the official hosts for NXT’s upcoming event.
