As noted before, WWE recently announced that Rey Mysterio, The Great Muta, and Andy Kaufman will be getting inducted as members of this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class. This year’s class is currently expected to feature five members with one of the remaining spots rumored to be for former WCW and WWE wrestler Stacy Keibler.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources confirmed that the fifth and final member of this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class will not be Batista. Johnson reported that while Batista was originally set to be inducted in 2020 that did not take place in the end due to the COVID-19 pandemic at the time, he speculated that the reason why Batista was not chosen for this year’s class was due to schedule-related issues. Batista reportedly is currently involved in the filming of an upcoming film called My Spy in South Africa and would not be able to attend this year’s ceremony in Los Angeles.
Johnson also reported that the final inductee will also not be a tag team based on his sources.
In a follow up report, Johnson reported that the final inductee will likely be a referee who was stated to be “someone the entire industry loved.”
