REELZ Issues Statement on Status of TV Deal with MLW

As noted before, Major League Wrestling’s current television deal with REELZ Channel is for ten weeks in length.

REELZ recently issued an official statement stating that they nor MLW have made any official decision regarding the future status of MLW Underground on their network.

“No decisions have been made by MLW or REELZ and we are both committed to a good outcome for MLW, its fans and REELZ.”


WWE, AEW, Matthew Justice, & Jeff Jones File New Trademarks

WWE, AEW, Matthew Justice, and Jeff Jones recently filed several new trademarks to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Trademarks for “Zack Ryder”, “Ezekiel Jackson”, “Drew McIntyre”, and “Dolph Ziggler” were filed by WWE on February 23rd for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes.

Trademarks for “AEW All Acess” and “QTV” were filed by AEW on Februrary 24th for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes.

Trademarks for “Matthew Justice” and “The Second Gear Crew” were filed by indie wrestler Matthew Justice on February 21st for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes.

A trademark for “Judge Jeff Jones” was filed by former ECW wrestler and current AEW Vice President Jeff Jones on February 21st for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes.

PWInsider’s Steven Fernandes reported that WWE recently filed opposition to a trademark filed by Claudio Castagnoli last year for the term “CSRO.” Fernandes reported that WWE had requested a 90-day extension for their opposition filing on February 28th. Fernandes also reported that this trademark in dispute had been filed by Castagnoli on March 14, 2022.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

As noted before, Jon Moxley was recently pulled from Over The Top’s upcoming Scrappermania 7 on March 18th due to schedule-related issues with AEW and would be replaced with two AEW talents, one of them being Eddie Kingston. OTT recently announced that PAC is the second talent being sent by AEW for their upcoming event.

Amazon announced they will be debuting a new reality television series titled Twin Love featuring WWE Hall of Famers The Bella Twins, Nikki & Brie Bella, as the hosts for their Amazon Prime streaming service. No date was given for the premiere of this new upcoming series.

Pro Wrestling NOAH talent Daisuke Harada recently announced he will be retiring from wrestling due to neck-related health issues. Harada stated that his retirement match will be taking place at NOAH’s March 9th event in Tokyo, Japan. Harada also stated that this will be a one minute exhibition match.

Game Changer Wrestling recently announced that Allison Danger will be making her official debut for the company at their Into The Light event on April 21st in Atlanta, Georgia.

GCW also recently announced that Hijo Del Vikingo will also be making an appearance for the company at their Into The Light event on April 21st in Atlanta.

GCW also recently announced that Sumi Sakai will be making an appearance for the company at their Scene Of The Crime event on April 22nd in Orlando, Florida.

Josh Barnett recently announced two new matches for the card of GCW’s Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 9 event on March 30th in Los Angeles, California:

  • Johnny Bloodsport (also known as John Morrison/Hennigan) vs. Royce Isaacs
  • Timothy Thatcher vs. Josh Barnett

The National Wrestling Alliance recently announced two new matches for the card of their NWA 312 event on April 7th in Chicago, Illinois:

  • NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship – Chris Adonis vs. Tyrus (c)
  • NWA World Women’s Championship – La Rosa Negra vs. Kamille (c)

WrestleCon recently announced a new match for the card of their Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow 2023 event on March 30th in Los Angeles, California:

  • AAA Mega Championship – Kommander vs. Taurus vs. Hijo Del Vikingo (c)

Impact Wrestling recently announced a new match for the card of their Sacrifice 2023 event on March 24th in Windsor, Canada:

  • Impact Knockouts World Championship – Jordynne Grace vs. winner of Gisele Shaw vs. Mickie James (c)
