Mercedes Mone Comments on Her Interest for Mickie James Match & Forbidden Door 2

Planet Comiccon recently held their Planet Comicon 2023 event this past weekend in Kansas City, Missouri. Among the guests were Mercedes Mone.

One of the topics discussed included Mone’s thoughts on her interest in a potential match with Mickie James in the future.

“Is it going to happen? Like I said, I’m waiting for the bag. I’m waiting for Mickie James. But absolutely do I want to wrestle Mickie James. Mickie James is legit one of my idols and someone who I grew up and I was just like, ‘Wow. That was such a standard to me.’ Her and Trish Stratus, that storyline inspired me so much that I wanted to be in the WWE even more. I’d never seen a women’s storyline like that. It transcended through a whole year of buildup, and Mickie James’ character was just so amazing. When they finally had their WrestleMania match, I was just like a kid. I was like, ‘Oh my… I have to do this, I want to do this.

When Mickie James came back to WWE, I was praying and hoping that we would actually get to wrestle. We never got to. We had maybe a tag matches on house shows, but we never had a one-on-one, which is my dream. I definitely believe in 2023 that I can definitely make that dream come true. So I definitely would love to face Mickie James and retire her ass. Send her back to that rodeo and go ride that horse. Bye, Mickie.”

James recently responded on Twitter to Mone’s comments stating “I see you. I hear you. I love you. I respect you. I’d be honored. Try me shugs.”

Mone also gave her thoughts about her interest in potentially working at AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s co-promoted Forbidden Door 2 event this June.

“When is it? It’s in June? Okay, what day? [Fan is unsure of the date]. I don’t know when to show up then. Anybody know the date? June is so far (away). It could be open. July might be open. I gotta get that phone call. I gotta get that phone call from Unc.”

Taya Valkyrie Comments on Her Departure from Impact

As noted before, Taya Valkyrie recently signed an official contract with AEW and made her official debut for the company at their Dynamite show last week in Winnipeg, Canada.

Thursday’s Impact! show featured Valkyrie making her final appearance for Impact Wrestling. During a backstage segment on the show involving The Death Dollz, Valkyrie tried to prevent Jessicka from wanting to seek answers regarding what she had seen inside a mysterious coffin backstage. While Valkyrie was talking to Jessicka, a mysterious hand emerged and dragged Valkyrie into the mysterious void in the coffin.

Following the show, Valkyrie reflected on Instagram about her recent time in Impact and farewell from the company.

“Well, what can I say. To the men and women of @impactwrestling, you’ve been such an enormous part of life for the last 6 years. You’ve all had such a huge part in picking me up when I’m down, being my biggest cheerleaders and truly proving that sometimes, family is chosen. I love each and everyone of you. Thank you for welcoming me back, thank you for helping me rediscover myself when I was truly broken and allowing me to just be me. Death DoIlz, our bond is one that can never be broken. The last year with you two has been a highlight of my career and I owe you both the world. It’s not goodbye, it’s just see you all down the road.

Alicia Atout Comments on Her Interest in Working for AEW or Impact

As noted before, Major League Talent Alicia Atout announced this past Wednesday that she was granted her release from the company and is currently a free agent.

Fightful held a recent interview with Atout. One of the topics discussed included Atout’s thoughts on her level of interest in returning to AEW or Impact Wrestling for the next direction of her career.

“At this point, I’m very, very close with a lot of people in both of those locker rooms, from people who have just been signed to ones who have been there from the very start, or are the main-eventers of the brands. So for me, my eyes since I started have been set on AEW, and I think it’s one of those things where I know we’ve discussed that before and how some things just can fall through the cracks sometimes or other opportunities come up, and timing just isn’t right. I’m almost glad that when I first was doing those shows for Freelance and Cody [Rhodes] brought me on back then, I’m almost glad that the deal didn’t go through or we didn’t continue talking about that in that moment because I feel like I have so much more to bring now. I feel like back then, it would have just been me as an interview. Now, they can bring me with any wrestler. I know I can manage the hell out of somebody, and we would have the craziest run, whether they want me [as] a heel, baby, whatever it is. I just have a lot more to bring, and my confidence is so much higher since doing the Clout Couple stuff. So that’s where my eyes are set, but I’m super open to hearing from whomever because that’s kind of the beauty of being a free agent. You never know who’s gonna come knocking.”
