AEW: More on GCW Opposing “Fight Forever” Trademark, Vickie Guerrero Update, Paul Wight

More on GCW Opposing AEW’s “Fight Forever” Trademark

As noted before, Game Changer Wrestling recently filed their opposition to a trademark filed last year by AEW for “AEW: Fight Forever.” In their filing, it was stated that both companies are currently in settlement talks to resolve the issue.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that those spoken to from GCW stated that the reason for their trademark opposition is not to delay AEW’s upcoming video game nor get money from AEW. Instead the reason reportedly is due to GCW wants to make sure they can still legally use the name “Fight Forever” for future GCW charity shows.

GCW held their first and currently only charity show under the Fight Forever name in January of 2021.

Vickie Guerrero AEW Contract Status Update

As noted before, Vickie Guerrero is currently expected to be leaving AEW once her current contract expires this July.

Guerrero recently provided an update on Twitter stating that she is currently not scheduled to make any more appearances in AEW due to AEW officials had recently told her to stay home and wait out the remainder of her contract.

Paul Wight Comments on Future of His AEW In-Ring Career

A recent episode of The Deuce & Ma podcast had Paul Wight as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Wight’s thoughts on the future of his in-ring career in AEW.

“Working hard, training hard to get back in the ring, which will hopefully happen real soon. I’ve had a hip replacement and just got a knee replacement done in August, which sounds like the end of an athlete’s career, but modern technology, I’ll tell you, I feel better joint-wise than I’ve felt the past 15 years. Now, it’s about getting the muscle stronger and having a bit more fun. I have a couple years left in AEW, for sure, signed a nice healthy contract when I came over and I plan on making good on that contract in AEW for Tony Khan and myself.”
