As noted before, AEW CEO Tony Khan recently hyped up that he would be making an important announcement for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show. Khan stated that this announcement would be something that would be “great for the company.”
During tonight’s Dynamite show in Phoenix, Arizona, Khan handed off the duties of making the announcement to Adam Cole. Cole stated that starting this March, AEW will be debuting a new reality television series called AEW: All Access on TBS. This upcoming new series was stated to air on Wednesdays following Dynamite, feature episodes one hour in length, and be a behind-the-scenes look at several notable AEW stars in the company.
Cole also stated that the same night of the debut of this new series will also feature his first match since his recent return from a concussion injury.
Following the announcement, Variety held an interview with Khan who stated:
“We’re always looking for new ways to engage with fans and give them unique access to our incredible talent. With the new ‘AEW: All Access’ series, they’ll have a chance to peek behind the curtain and into the lives of their favorite wrestlers like never before. To show the human side of some of these larger-than-life figures will give fans a rare perspective about who these wrestlers are when the cameras aren’t typically on.”
This interview also featured Turner Networks President Jason Sarlanis who stated:
“AEW has such an amazingly loyal and dedicated fan base that brings in more than 4 million viewers to TBS every Wednesday nigh. With ‘All Access,’ we are bringing that incredible audience a whole new way to experience the wrestling universe they love. We have a powerful partnership with Tony Khan and AEW. With this new series we are expanding the franchise in a way that invites viewers inside the world of wrestling like never before.”
Variety reported that Cole, Britt Baker, Sammy Guevara, Tay Conti, The Young Bucks, Saraya, Wardlow, and Eddie Kingston will be among those appearing on the series.
