As noted before, WWE recently dropped their plans for a match between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey at this April’s WrestleMania 39 event in Inglewood, California.
Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer’s report and also provided more details regarding the dropped plans.
It was also reported that they have yet to confirm if the recent rumors of Ronda Rousey facing off against Rhea Ripley at the event are true. In regards to Lynch, it was reported that Lynch was not seen to be bothered backstage after learning of the planned match with Rousey being dropped.
It was also reported that any plans WWE had in mind for this year’s WrestleMania event prior to Vince McMahon’s departure are no longer set for the show.
One of those plans prior to WWE’s leadership regime change involved a potential match between John Cena and Cody Rhodes. It was reported that while Cena’s status for the event is currently uncertain, WWE officials recently shifted focus from a potential match between Cena and Austin Theory to now a potential match between Cena and Logan Paul.
