Kenny Omega Comments on His Matches with Will Ospreay & Death Triangle Being “Wake-Up Call”
ComicBook.com held a recent interview with Kenny Omega. One of the topics discussed included Omega’s thoughts on his current health status following his recent IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship match against Will Ospreay and AEW Trios World Tag Team Championship Ladder match against Death Triangle.
“I would say before the Best of Seven series and the Tokyo Dome I was feeling pretty good. After completing the Best of Seven Series, which culminated in a Ladder Match, and barely being removed from the match that I did with Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom, it was kind of a slap in the face from reality being like, ‘Hey, don’t go thinking you’re 100% again. We just let you think that for a couple of weeks (laughs). This is your new 100% so get used to it, kid.’ That was the crashing back down to reality moment for me. Like, okay, I did it. I survived. I’m really proud of this work, but oh boy, it’s going to take a while to recover. It wasn’t like a ‘give me a 24-hour’ kind of thing. It’s been over a week and I’m still feeling it.”
Prince Nana Comments on Wanting to Recruit Top Flight into The Embassy
A recent episode of the AEW Unrestricted podcast featured Ring of Honor talent Prince Nana as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Nana’s thoughts on his plans to grow The Embassy and Top Flight’s Darius and Dante Martin as two people he is the most interested in recruiting into the group.
“I’ve been watching you, Tony Schiavone. I’ve been really interested in bringing you in. I’ve also been watching some of the top tag teams in the world today such as Private Party [Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen]. They were trained by a trainer in the New York area, but they were both mentored by me. I mentored those guys before they even got to AEW. I would like to keep an eye on guys like Top Flight [Darius & Dante Martin]. Did you see the match with (Jon) Moxley and Claudio (Castagnoli)? Both guys are going to be top performers in this industry. When you’re talking about singles competitors, there are a couple of guys that haven’t been getting the shine that should get like Flyin Brian [Brian Pillman Jr] and a couple of other names. Prince Nana, I’m a good business man, and trust me, I have a couple of things up my sleeves.”
