Former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose reportedly has been released today by WWE, according to Fightful Select.
It was reported that their sources stated that the reason for Rose’s release was due to the racy adult content Rose had been posting to her FanTime account, which led WWE officials feeling they were put in a tough position over her actions. WWE officials reportedly felt that the content Rose had been posting was outside of the parameters of her contract with the company leading to the decision to release her.
In regards to Rose dropping her NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez on Tuesday’s NXT show, the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that this was not WWE’s original plan for the NXT Women’s title and ending of Rose’s 413 day title reign. Meltzer reported that this was a last minute decision by WWE officials and related to the adult content she had been posting.
Prior to her release, Rose had been with WWE since 2015, first as a contestant of the sixth season of WWE’s Tough Enough series, and made her main roster debut in November of 2017 following a stint in WWE’s NXT developmental system.
