Carmelo Hayes vs. Axiom

They lock up and Hayes sends Axiom to the mat and he kicks Axiom. Axiom with an ankle lock and Hayes rolls through. Axiom pie faces Hayes and applies a front face lock and gets a near fall. Axiom with a snap mare and a springboard arm drag. Hayes backs away from a spinning heel kick. They lock up and Axiom with a side head lock and a springboard side head lock take down. Hayes with a head scissors and Axiom escapes but Hayes with a wrist lock to take Axiom back to the mat in another head scissors. Axiom escapes and works on the legs. Hayes misses a round kick and he takes Axiom down but Axiom kicks Hayes away. Axiom misses a kick and Hayes with a rollup but Axiom with a jackknife cover. Axiom with a flying arm bar take down into a hammer lock. Axiom bridges while he holds on to the hammer lock.

Axiom adds a crossface to the hammer lock. Hayes backs Axiom into the corner and connects with an elbow. Axiom with a kick and an arm drag off the turnbuckles followed by a drop kick for a near fall. Axiom with a waist lock. Hayes holds on to the ropes on an O’Connor Roll attempt but Axiom with a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall. Axiom with a waist lock and Hayes with an elbow. Hayes goes for a springboard move and Axiom with a drop kick and both men are down.

Axiom gets to his feet first and he kicks Hayes in the chest a few times. Axiom with more kicks but Hayes with a kick and a springboard clothesline for a near fall. Hayes with a leg drop and kicks to Axiom. Hayes gets a near fall. Hayes pulls at the mat and goes for an arm bar into a top wrist lock. Hayes with an arm bar and Axiom with forearms and a crucifix for a near fall. Hayes with a flying elbow and he gets a near fall. Hayes with an arm bar. Axiom with a knee and Hayes with a forearm. Axiom with a forearm and then Hayes with a slap and Axiom responds with one of his own.

Hayes with a forearm and Axiom with a chop and forearm. Axiom with a drop kick. Axiom with a running kick into the corner followed by a fisherman’s suplex for a near fall. Hayes with a bicycle kick followed by La Mistica for a near fall. Hayes with a crossface. Axiom with a rollup for a near fall. Hayes goes for a springboard move but Axiom with a dive to the floor and a German suplex. Axiom with a cross body for a near fall. Axiom with an arm bar submission into a triangle. Hayes gets Axiom up for a one arm power bomb but Axiom’s shoulders were not on the mat. Axiom with a triangle. Hayes slams Axiom’s head to the mat.

Hayes with a wrist lock and he kicks Axiom in the head a few times. Axiom blocks a kick and he chops Hayes a few times. Axiom goes to the ropes but Hayes pushes Axiom and he goes to the ropes. Both men go to the top rope in a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock and Axiom with a Frankensteiner. Williams pulls Axiom down while the referee checks on Hayes. Hayes with a jumping Codebreaker and then he goes up top and hits Nothin But Net for the three count.

Winner: Carmelo Hayes via Pinfall.

After the match, Axiom with a moonsault off the turnbuckles onto Williams on the floor.

Backstage: Grayson Waller

Grayson Waller is with McKenzie. He says he cannot believe that Roxanne is the champion. Why does he have to wait until New Year’s Evil if Roxanne didn’t have to wait. I want my match tonight.

McKenzie mentions that Bron is on a media tour for Vengeance Day in North Carolina.

Waller says Bron isn’t even going to be the champion at Vengeance Day. Waller tells Bron to show that he is a champion. He tells Bron to meet him in the ring tonight . . . bitch.

Backstage: Tony D’Angelo, Stacks, Grayson Waller

We are back and Tony D’Angelo gets off the phone and he tells Lorenzo that he has a North American Title Match and he says Lee agreed to it. Tony tells Lorenzo to tell Dijak not to get involved in the match.

Grayson Waller stops by and asks if they have seen Bron Breakker. Waller tells Tony to tell Bron that Waller is looking for him if Tony sees him.

Zoey Stark vs. Nikkita Lyons

Zoey tries to attack Nikkita from behind but misses. Lyons with a kick to Zoey and they make their way to the ring.

The referee starts the match and Nikkita kicks Zoey. Nikkita runs Zoey into the corner and follows with an Irish whip and forearm into the corner. Lyons with punches in the corner. Zoey goes to the floor and Nikkita follows but Zoey gets back to the ring. Zoey sends Nikkita into the ring post. Zoey with punches and she screams. Zoey sends Nikkita into the apron and then back into the ring. Zoey chokes Nikkita in the ropes. Zoey with a chop and Nikkita chops back. They continue the exchange and Zoey with a kick and snap mare followed by a rear chin lock. Zoey with a crossface and a reverse chin lock.

Zoey takes Nikkita back to the mat. Zoey sends Nikkita to the mat. Nikkita with a leg sweep and clotheslines. Nikkita with a hip to Zoey followed by a kick for a near fall. Zoey with a thrust kick in the corner. Zoey with a waist lock and she tries for a half and half suplex but Nikkita with an elbow. Zoey with a drop kick and a kick to the back of the head for a near fall. Zoey goes to the apron and sets for a springboard move but misses. Nikkita with a forearm and flapjack for a near fall. Zoey escapes a slam attempt and Nikkita with a thrust kick and forearm. Nikkita with an Irish whip and Zoey floats over. Zoey with a rollup and bridge with help from the ropes for the three count.

Backstage: Cora Jade, Wendy Choo

Cora Jade is with McKenzie and she brings up how close Cora was to winning the Iron Survivor Match and Roxanne winning the title.

Cora says that Roxanne is the luckiest person alive. That should have been her title.

Wendy Choo attacks Cora while wearing her Christmas Jammies and officials have to separate them.

Video: Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen, Kiana James

We are back and Fallon Henley is with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen at Fallon’s family bar. Fallon talks about how they owe a lot of money. Josh says that 2023 will be a better year. Brooks talks about winning the tag titles.

Kiana James and her assistant show up and talk about what they can get during the liquidation.

Fallon tells Kiana to leave.

Kiana says a little bird told her about Fallon’s financial woes and she has taken care of it. She says that the bar owes thousands in taxes and they don’t have the money to pay it off. Kiana says she paid off the tax bill and there is a lien on the bar. She says she will buy this bar.

Fallon challenges Kiana to a match and if she wins, Kiana releases the lien.

Kiana asks why would she do that and Fallon says if Kiana wins, she will give Kiana the bar for what she has already paid.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match
Toxic Attraction (Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin) vs. Diamond Mine (Tatum Paxley & Ivy Nile) vs. Kayden Carter & Katana Chance (c)

Gigi and Kayden start things off and Gigi with a forearm and she sends Kayden into the corner. Jacy sends Kayden into the corner and then Gigi with a shoulder and Jacy with a cannonball for a near fall. Kayden with a waist lock and Ivy tags in. Ivy with an arm bar on Jacy and a take down for a near fall. Jacy tries to escape and Ivy maintains the position. Ivy with a thrust kick and Tatum tags in. They hit a double suplex. Ivy flips Tatum onto Jacy for a near fall. Tatum almost tags Katana into the match but tags in Ivy. Jacy with a rolling elbow but Carter makes the tag. Carter and Chance with a double drop kick and then they send everyone to the floor and they hit a double splash off the turnbuckles.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Gigi with a bow and arrow on Ivy and Nile with a counter into a lateral press for a near fall. Gigi keeps Ivy from making the tag and hits an STO. Gigi knocks Paxley off the apron and Carter is tagged in. Carter with clotheslines to Gigi and then hits a drop kick on Gigi and a splash on Tatum for a near fall. Carter gets Tatum up but she lands on her feet. Tatum knocks Chance off the apron and Carter stops Tatum on the apron. Tatum with a forearm and they go up top. Chance tags in and Chance hits a Frankensteiner on Paxley off Carter’s shoulders for a near fall. After many kicks, everyone is down in the ring. Nile gets Chance on her shoulders but Gigi tags in and Ivy with a rollup for a near fall. Gigi with a forearm to Ivy and Jacy tags in. Gigi with a super kick followed by one from Jacy. Gigi with a splash and Jacy with a back senton for a near afll. Jacy with a hip to Ivy and she misses a cannonball. Tatum tags in.

Tatum with an assisted twisting splash for a near fall. Carter is knocked off the apron. Ivy tags in and Jacy with a neck breaker. Chance with a Codebreaker on Ivy. Carter tags in and Chance with a splash off the turnbuckles to the floor. Ivy with a dragon sleeper but Carter flips off the ropes and gets the three count.

Winner: Kayden Carter & Katana Chance via Pinfall to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.

We take a look at Oro Mensah partying and he talks about how he is here for a good time.

Video: Booker T, Roxanne Perez

Booker says he feels like he was going through the Matrix looking for the One and you are that person. He asks her to talk about winning the title.

Roxanne says it was a mix of emotions and she was overwhelmed. She did not expect it to happen but she won. Roxanne says she walked into Booker’s school at 16 and said she wanted to be a champion. Five years later, she is a champion.

Booker asks if she thought it would happen so fast.

Roxanne wanted to be the youngest champion but she is a tag team champion, the first Breakout Tournament winner, first Iron Survivor winner, and now she is champion, all in nine months.

Booker asks why did she ask for the title match instead of waiting.

Roxanne says that Booker told her to bank on herself when she had her tryout. She was attacked by Mandy and she didn’t want to wait.

Booker congratulates Roxanne for winning.

Roxanne says she has always been asking him questions and he asks for advice.

Booker says he is about checks and championships. You will have butterflies but you need to make them fly in line. When you lose that feeling, it is time to go away. Booker says it is only going to get tougher. He asks if she is ready and Roxanne says she is.

In-Ring: Apollo Crews, Carmelo Hayes

Apollo Crews makes his way to the ring.

Crews says he has to congratulate the new NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez. That was very well deserved. Crews says he thought he would be leaving Deadline as the new NXT Champion. He knew it in his heart and it was his night. The vision was clear and he had the opportunity to get the title that he came back to this building and this energy for. He had a chance to capture the title he came back to this brand for. Crews says he knows he has been knocked down some pegs. He is not out of contention.

At New Year’s Evil, Bron and Waller will meet but three weeks later, NXT is on the road for Vengeance Day. That is when he sees himself stepping . . .

Carmelo Hayes interrupts and he says if Apollo is all about visions, how can he see the title from the back of the line. Hayes says he is the next in line. You have it all, but you don’t got what he’s got, the next spot in line. Hayes says he has no problem putting Crews’ name on the jerseys in the rafters.

Crews says that Hayes is one of one. You have the cool look, the swag, and the drip. You are the top of the depth chart.

Hayes says that if you are going to talk about the NXT Championship, neither do you.

Crews tells Hayes the one thing you don’t understand, no matter how good you think you are, there is always someone out there better than you. I don’t have to stand out here and tell you I am. Name the time and place and I will show you that I am.

Backstage: New Day, Pretty Deadly

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are in the back and Pretty Deadly show up with presents and they are asked if they have everything.

Kit says they have almost everything and Kofi says that they cannot get a title match.

Elton asks if they can say the Pledge of Allegiance but Kofi says the price has gone up.

Backstage: Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn

Alba Fyre walks in the back and Isla Dawn is on some cases and she spits red mist in Alba’s face. Alba goes down and a producer checks on her.

Backstage: Malik Blade, Edris Enofe, Odyssey Jones, Schism

We are back with footage from last week with Ava Raine asking Malik Blade, Edris Enofe and Odyssey Jones when are they going to fill the void in their life. Edris says they want to have fun and they don’t believe in the Schism bull . . .

Joe Gacy shows up and says they are a family. Jagger says they look like people who are trying to cover things up.

Ava wishes them luck tonight.

Backstage: Alba Fyre, Grayson Waller

Alba Fyre is talking about how it burns and he is being checked out.

Grayson Waller shows up and asks if Bron Breakker is here.

Waller is told that they are dealing with a medical issue and Waller asks why are they yelling at him.

Indi Hartwell vs. Elektra Lopez

Indi runs Lopez into the corner and connects with shoulders. Indi with a boot for a near fall. Lopez with a double leg take down and punches. Lopez with a kick and Irish whip. Indi floats over and gives Lopez a hip toss for a near fall. Lopez with a forearm and kick that sends Indi to the floor. Indi with a forearm and Lopez fires back. Lopez sends Indi into the ring post. Lopez with kicks and an elbow drop for a near fall. Lopez with a reverse chin lock. Lopez gets a near fall and then returns to the reverse chin lock.

Lopez with forearms and she returns to the reverse chin lock. Indi with a rollup for a near fall. Hartwell with a knee and jabs followed by clotheslines. Indi with an uppercut in the ropes followed by a forearm for a near fall. Indi misses a clothesline and both women go for a cross body at the same time and both go down. Lopez with a kick to the shoulder and Indi hits Lopez from behind while Lopez goes for something in the turnbuckle pad. Lopez punches Indi with a brass knuckles and gets the three count.

Winner: Elektra Lopez via Pinfall.

Backstage: Alba Fyre

Alba is told that she is cleared for her match since she says she is fine.

Backstage: Wes Lee

We are back and McKenzie asks Wes Lee if he is defending the title next week.

Wes says he has to be a reactionary champion and he has to make challenges. After he beats him, he can move on. He is dealing with the one with the biggest mouth. After Tony fails, he knows he has Dijak waiting for him to deliver his ‘hard justice’. Wes says this title isn’t leaving his shoulder any time soon.

Sol Ruca vs. Alba Fyre

As the smoke rises behind Alba, she is pulled off the apron by Isla Dawn. Isla with forearms to Alba. Isla puts Alba’s hand between the ring steps and the ring. Isla swings and hits Alba’s hand.

Officials check on Alba while Isla leaves with Alba’s bat.

Backstage: Chase U

We go to Chase University’s Christmas Party.

Thea gives Andre a new sweater.

Andre is given a fruitcake and Andre yells at him because he is allergic to fruitcake. He tells him that he hopes that Santa Mother F***ing Claus puts coal in his stocking.
Duke doesn’t realize it is Secret Santa day today. Duke tells someone that he has to meet the Dean about his scholarship. Duke says he will hold on to the gift. Duke gives Andre the plaque. Duke is told he didn’t have to do it but it is from the heart. Duke with a hug and Thea joins in.

Backstage: Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen, Kiana James

McKenzie is with Brooks, Josh, and Fallon. Josh says they are ready to rock and they are looking forward to face the New Day for the titles. They are going to go balls to the wall. Brooks says he might have a knot in his stomach but he meant that 2023 will be their year.

Kiana James shows up and Fallon says it isn’t about the bar. Kiana says that is next week. She came to wish Brooks luck and Brooks is aw shucks as he goes to the ring.

Kiana tells McKenzie that she is all business, but she is still a woman.

Backstage: Drew Gulak, Hank Walker

We are back with Drew Gulak training and Hank Walker stops by. Hank says he saw Drew scouting some matches. He says he knows he can get better and he asks for some advice.

Drew tells Hank he admires his zeal and eagerness. Next week, I am hosting a seminar and I want to you attend and observe.

Hank says he will be there.

Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs vs. New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) (c)

Kofi and Brooks start things off and they lock up. Brooks sends Kofi to the mat. They lock up and Kofi with a chop. Brooks misses some punches and Kofi chops him in the back. Kofi floats over and then he dances around. Kofi with a side head lock and Brooks with a shoulder tackle and punch. Brooks does some dancing and Kofi goes for a jumping back elbow but Brooks catches him and hits a power slam for a near fall. Woods tags in and they lock up. Brooks runs into an elbow and Woods comes off the turnbuckles but Brooks catches him and goes for a slam but Woods escapes. Woods with a kick and chop.

Woods with a rolling elbow and a forearm in the corner. Kofi tags in and he hits a forearm in the corner. Woods with a forearm and then Kofi with a drop kick that sends Brooks into the turnbuckles. Kofi with kicks to Brooks and Woods tags in and hits a drop kick into the corner. Woods gets a near fall. Briggs tags in and Brooks with a bulldog to Woods. Briggs with a shoulder to Kofi and then they hit atomic drops. Brooks and Briggs slide to the floor and punch Kofi and Woods.

Briggs with a punch and Brooks tags in. Brooks with a bear hug and he runs Woods into the turnbuckles. Briggs with a bear hug. Brooks tags in and he applies a bear hug. Woods goes for a sunset flip on Briggs but he stays on his feet and hits a leg drop. Woods with a thrust kick and Kofi tags in. Kofi with a double sledge off the turnbuckles and he tags Woods in and he goes up top with a double sledge to the arm. Briggs with an Irish whip to Woods and he hits a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Brooks tags in and applies a reverse chin lock.

Woods with a snap mare and Brooks holds Woods from making the tag. Woods with an enzuigiri and Kofi tags in. Kofi with a chop off the turnbuckles and a punch to Briggs. Kofi with chops and a drop kick. Brooks with a kick to the midsection followed by an Irish whip. Kofi with a double jump cross body off the turnbuckles for a near fall. Kofi with a Boom Drop and he sets for Trouble in Paradise but Brooks catches him. Kofi lands on his feet and Kofi with SOS for a near fall when Brooks gets his hand on the ropes. Kofi with a rana and Briggs tags in and punches Kofi and Woods. Briggs with a boot to Kofi and a splash off the apron to Woods. Kofi goes for the trust plancha but Briggs catches Kofi and sends him against the ropes and connects with a forearm. Woods tries a dive to the floor but Briggs catches him and hits a rebound forearm. Briggs with a boot and Brooks tags in and gets a near fall after a reverse atomic drop. Briggs tags in.

They put Kofi on the turnbuckles and set for a superplex. Brooks knocks Woods off the apron. Kofi with a forearm to Brooks but Briggs with a boot. Briggs with a moonsault to Kofi for a near fall. Briggs gets Kofi on his shoudlers and Brooks goes up top but Woods sends Brooks off the turnbuckles. Kofi with a poisonrana and Trouble in Paradise. Woods tags in as Kofi hits a flip dive onto Brooks. Woods with a springboard elbow drop for the three count.

Winner: New Day via Pinfall to retain the NXT Tag Team Championship.

After the match, all four men shake hands.

Backstage: Stacks, Dijak

Channing Lorenzo says if you stay out of the Don’s way, you won’t have any problems. Lorenzo rehearses on Dijak’s door and he enters.

Backstage: Grayson Waller

Grayson Waller tells Bron Breakker he can find him in the ring.

Outside: Diamond Mine, Veer Mahan, Sanga

We are back and Diamond Mine is in the Most Dangerous Parking Lot in Sports Entertainment and Tatum and Ivy are asked if they are staying a team. Tatum says they are not done. Ivy mentions how they have improved as a team.

Veer and Sanga show up and they hear that Julius is cleared.

Veer says that the Creeds need to show them.

Julius says he is facing JD McDonagh next week and then they will be out of excuses.

In-Ring: Grayson Waller, Bron Breakker

Grayson Waller makes his way to the ring.

Waller wants to know where Bron Breakker is. He says he is calling his shot. He wants his title match right here and right now.

Waller says he forgot that you are a coward. I have carried this brand on my back for all of 2022, making moment after moment. I am the biggest star here. There isn’t a man or woman on any roster who can do what he does. He is the biggest star and he is the greatest Iron Survivor. He will become the greatest NXT Champion of all time. People think that Bron likes to bark because he has that dog in him. I don’t that Bron is a dog at all. He says that Bron is an absolute . . .

Bron arrives at the building and double parks his car as he walks into the building.

Waller says he isn’t afraid of anyone.

Bron walks through the hallway and he makes his way to the ring.

Bron with a spear to Waller but Bron is not moving. Waller pushes Bron off of him and Waller reveals a bullet proof vest and he tosses the kevlar onto Bron.

Waller says he outsmarted Bron tonight and he outsmarted him at Deadline. At New Year’s Evil, I will outsmart you one more time when I become NXT Champion.

Waller holds on to the title belt as he tells Bron that is the Grayson Waller Effect.
