WWE: Kevin Owens on Teaming Up with John Cena, Emma on WWE Return, Tyson Fury Update

Kevin Owens Comments on Teaming with John Cena for Final SmackDown of 2022

TMZ Sports held a recent interview with Kevin Owens. One of the topics discussed included Owens’ thoughts on teaming up with John Cena against The Bloodline for the final WWE SmackDown show of 2022.

“Me and my son [Owen] will always have a little bond over John Cena. My son, as he was growing up, was a huge John Cena fan. When I signed my WWE contract, I told my son, ‘Maybe I’ll get to wrestle John Cena one day,’ then I did. And he got to meet John and all this stuff. This was several years ago now, Owen’s 15.

He’s still excited that John’s coming around. So they’re going to come to the show in Tampa so he can watch it. It’s a cool little thing to share with my son anytime John’s involved. My son likes WWE but is not an avid fan like I was growing up.

But anytime John comes back around, it piques his interest, and now I get to team with him. It’s cool. He saw us fight each other. Now he’s going to get to see me team with him. It’s a neat little thing.”

Emma Comments on Her Recent Return to WWE

A recent episode of the Out of Character with Ryan Satin podcast had Emma as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Emma’s thoughts on the process that led to her recent return to WWE.

“I guess it would have been within a few months of when Triple H returned. I was working with IMPACT and my contract was coming up. Maybe, without even realizing it, I had this idea in my mind that maybe I’m done with IMPACT and maybe there are other options that I should explore and see what’s possible. That was probably coming from me watching WWE and seeing all these awesome changes with Triple H and what he was doing, and I know I had that good rapport with him and all the stuff we did at NXT. Probably, in the back of my mind, I started thinking like, ‘I wonder if I could actually go back to WWE.’ It was within a short time after that, probably a month or two, we ended up in touch. He said to me that he had been meaning to reach out even sooner, that I had been on his list, and he’s just been swamped, as you could imagine. That’s kind of where the conversation finally kicked off and then went from there. Next thing you know, I’m actually back. I joked about it so many times, all of a sudden it was like, ‘This is actually happening, I’m coming back to WWE after five years.”

Emma also gave her thought about being paired on-screen with her real life boyfriend Madcap Moss.

“I’m still kind of pinching myself sometimes because I really enjoy what I do. Even Madcap and I, we joked about it so many times, ‘imagine if we worked together’ and all these storylines we joked about and things we would do, and then I actually end up back, on the same show as him, and then in a storyline together, which we had never discussed. We joked about, but we never really thought it would happen and we didn’t discuss it with other people.

That wasn’t us. It may seem like maybe it was, but he has his own ideas and I have mine. I just thought, ‘okay, they’re bringing me back,’ and I had this and that in my mind, and a week or two in, they said, ‘we’re going to put you guys together.’ ‘This is cool, we get to be together and an on-screen couple, what a cool thing.’ We’re definitely making the most of it.”

WWE’s Royal Rumble & WrestleMania 39 Plans for Tyson Fury Currently in Doubt

WWE’s current plans for Tyson Fury’s potential involvement at next year’s Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 39 events reportedly are currently in serious doubt, according to The US Sun.

It was reported that Fury has recently been dealing with serious visa related issues that revolve around him currently being banned from entering in the United States. The reason reportedly is due to Fury’s alleged ties with Irish mobster boss Daniel Kinahan, who was hit with sanctions by the US government this past April.

One source spoken to stated:

“Tyson is well loved at the WWE and him popping up in any match and a run to Wrestlemania would generate huge headlines and fan interest. However his immigration status is proving tricky to deal with. Tyson and the legal team or getting this whole grey and tricky area resolved. But non-entry, quite simply put, means non-payment. And people may not believe this but turning up for a match or being part of the shows, not even fighting, earns him several million dollars. So this issue with his working visa in the States is costing him a large amount of cash.

The WWE works with foreign athletes all the time in aiding their visa processing for appearances. The legal team are on the sidelines offering support in this matter, but ultimately getting approval is on Tyson’s head and how US immigration assesses his case.

It is not all bad news for Tyson, because there are other options for WWE through their premium live events outside of the US. It’s likely that they will go to Saudi Arabia twice a year for those bigger nights and of course, there are often European battles. But having a potential invite to feature in something special at Wrestlemania is a huge deal, and currently those shows are only in the USA.”
