Contract Updates for Several Recent WWE Signings

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that all of the talent who have been brought back to WWE under its new regime have been signed to contracts three years in length.

In regards to Hit Row, it was reported that the group has matching deals that all expire at the same time.

Some talent reportedly had agents during negotiations and were able to secure different type contracts than those who negotiated directly with WWE. Those talents were able to negotiate terms that gave them “the ability to utilize some outside projects and platforms that they would not have been allowed to do at the time they were released.”

In regards to WWE’s preparations for talent returns, it was reported that this ranged from just a few days for Karrion Kross and Scarlett to over a month for the Good Brothers to many weeks in the making for Johnny Gargano.


Men’s & Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge Matches Announced for NXT Deadline

Tuesday’s NXT show featured the official announcement of a new match type for WWE’s NXT Deadline event on December 10th. During the segment, Shawn Michaels revealed that this would be in the form of a Men’s and Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge matches, which is a hybrid of an Iron Man match, Scramble match, and King/Queen of the Mountain match.

In regards to match rules, it will feature five competitors and a 25-minute time limit. Two competitors will start the match with a new competitor entering every five minutes. The winner of the match will be the person who has the most points before the end of the time limit. Points can be earned by pinfalls, submissions, or disqualifications. Those who lose a fall are given a 90 seconds penalty to be served in a penalty box as punishment.

This year’s Tribute to the Troops special reportedly is currently scheduled to air on December 17th on FOX, according to PWInsider. Mike Johnson reported that the start time for this show will depend on the local market.

The Usos officially became the longest ever Tag Team Champions in WWE history this past Monday at 484 days and counting, surpassing the previous record held by the New Day’s Xaiver Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E.

As noted before, Randy Orton has been out of action for WWE since this past May due to him suffering a back injury. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Orton was seen in Birmingham, Alabama this past Monday, which is the location WWE wrestlers typically visit to undergo surgeries.

WWE recently announced the list of official rules for their upcoming WarGames matches at their Survivor Series WarGames event on November 26th in Boston, Massachusetts.

Comic Con Revolution recently announced that Sasha Banks will be making an appearance for the company at their Comic Con Revolution 2023 convention on May 20-21, 2023 in Ontario, Canada.

AJ Styles reportedly is currently on a three year win-less streak in regards to singles matches at WWE pay-per-view events, according to WrestleOps. It was reported that Styles has been winless in PPV singles matches since WWE’s Crown Jewel 2019 event in October of 2019.

As noted before, Scarlett was involved in an incident at a WWE house show event this past Saturday in Peoria, Illinois. This incident involved at least one fan tossing a beverage at Scarlett following a spot where she attacked Drew McIntyre during his match against Karrion Kross. This fan and her family was tossed out of the venue by security afterwards. The host venue, Peoria Civic Center, recently released an official statement on the incident stating:

“We are aware of the incident that took place at the WWE event on Saturday, November 12. Fortunately, our Peoria Civic Center security team along with the Peoria Police quickly identified the individuals responsible and escorted them out of the building for the remainder of the show. While we were disappointed in the actions of a couple and the brief distraction they caused, over 4,000 enthusiastic WWE fans were treated to a very entertaining event.”
