As noted before, Bandido recently signed an official contract with AEW that has yet to be officially announced by the company.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Bandido’s contract with AEW is for three years in length and for the maximum amount of dates. Meltzer reported that while the amount of dates is currently not known, it is more in terms of matches than what most AEW wrestlers typically work in a year.
In regards to why Bandido decided against accepting WWE’s offer, Meltzer reported that it was due to family-related reasons. Bandido’s wife reportedly did not want to move from their home in Mexico to the United States, which is a requirement for WWE’s signings who are sent to the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and first work in their NXT brand. Another reason reportedly was due to Bandido did not want to be away from his young child for long periods of time had he accepted WWE’s deal and did not move with his family.
