Warner Bros Discovery Reportedly Very Likely to Offer a “Significant Increase” for Potential New TV Deal

Warner Bros Discovery reportedly is currently expected to very likely offer a “significant increase” for a potential new television contract with AEW, according to Fightful Select.

It was reported that Warner Bros Discovery officials have been happy with AEW’s product on TNT and TBS and have been interested in adding more AEW-based content in the future, one of which will be a new behind-the-scenes documentary series.

One longtime WBD employee spoken to stated that they would be shocked if AEW was not offered a new deal to remain on WBD owned networks nor a significant increase for their next television rights contract from the company. This same person reportedly also stated that AEW and WBD have been extremely collaborative and open to input for ideas and plans from one another.

This same person reportedly also stated that they believe 2022 has been a huge rebound year for interest in wrestling across the board and that it came at a perfect time for both WWE and AEW. Both companies are currently expected to begin negotiations for potential new television contracts within the near future.


AEW Announces United Kingdom Event Debut for 2023

This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Boston, Massachusetts featured the official announcement that AEW will be making their official debut in the United Kingdom with an event in 2023.

No other details regarding this upcoming event in the United Kingdom was given during the show.

AEW CEO Tony Khan had mentioned in past interviews that he is interested in running AEW events in the United Kingdom at some point in the future. One location specifically mentioned by Khan was Craven Cottage, which is the home venue of soccer team Fullham F.C. that is currently owned by his father Shahid.

During a recent episode of the Grillin JR podcast, co-host Jim Ross revealed that he was recently interviewed for a future episode based on The Junkyard Dog for the Dark Side of the Ring series.

CM Punk made an appearance for Cage Fury Fighting Championships at their CFFC 114 event this past Thursday in Tampa, Florida. Punk resumed his work as a member of the company’s commentary team for the event. This was Punk’s first public appearance since AEW’s All Out 2022 event this past September.

The Bunny, real name Laura Dennis, reportedly has been recently involved in the filming of a new television film, titled Bad Tenant, for Lifetime network, according to the Tampa Bay Times. It was reported that the production of this upcoming film took place from late October through early November in the Tampa Bay area in Florida. It was also reported that the Bunny will be the feature star for this upcoming new film.

Ethan Page announced on Instagram that his Twitter account was recently hacked and apologized for any offensive tweets that were being made under his account.

In a recent interview with the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast, Chris Jericho revealed that he is currently in the process of writing a book based on his Painmaker character that he hopes will be made into a film one day.

“I have this character that I play called the Painmaker and I invented the character when I was wrestling in Japan because I wanted something a little bit more violent, like what would a serial killer look like if he was a pro wrestler.

The character is really cool and I thought, okay, I have seen so many Spider-Man, Batman, Superman movies, how many more characters are there any these universes? They’re just making the same ones over and over again. Somebody somehow is going to have to create a new superhero, so, that’s where the Painmaker came in.

The idea is to make it into a movie at some point. That’s my overall goal.”
