Katsuyori Shibata Comments on Match with Orange Cassidy on AEW Rampage & Wrestling Future
Tokyo Sports held a recent interview with Katsuyori Shibata. One of the topics discussed included his thoughts on his match against Orange Cassidy for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship at this past Friday’s AEW Rampage show in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
“It’s frustrating, really. The result is the same and I have a lot of things to reflect on in terms of my moves. I felt that I was back in the battlefield, and that the ring is special. Sometimes things go well, and sometimes things don’t go well. I really felt alive.
I’ve been looking for a chance for a long time. I thought that if I waited in Japan, I would never get a chance. I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity I have now. I wanted to give it my all… I went there without hesitation.”
Shibata also gave his thoughts on the future of his in-ring wrestling career.
“I think I will fight in the near future. I’ve already started working on it.”
Shibata also gave his thoughts on boxing legend Mike Tyson being on guest commentary for his match during the show.
“I watched a lot of Tyson’s videos when I was doing mixed martial arts. I respect him. I never thought that five and a half years after my injury, I would be competing in the U.S. and Mike Tyson would be commentating. If you work hard and live life to the fullest, things like dreams can come true.”
Ricky Starks Comments on AEW Career Goals & Interest in Future Tag Wrestling
The Asylum Wrestling Store held a recent virtual fan signing event with Ricky Starks as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Starks’ championships goals for his career in AEW.
“That [All-Atlantic Title] is well within my reach as well. So is the AEW Championship, heavyweight championship and TNT. There is no reason why I can’t have all three.”
Starks also gave his thoughts on if he is interested in working as a tag team wrestler again in the future.
“Definitely not [Starks said when asked if he sees himself getting back into a tag team]. Yeah, no tag team for me. Just gonna stay solo dolo. But you know, TNT [Title] is also another thing I wanna take on so, I’m trying to go for that as well.”
