Triple H COVID-19 & Health Status Update
As noted before, WWE Chief Content Officer and Head of Creative Paul “Triple H” Levesque tested positive for COVID-19 this past week. Levesque was unable to perform his backstage duties running this past week’s WWE shows and entered WWE’s COVID-19 protocols as a result of his positive testing.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Levesque recently cleared WWE’s COVID-19 protocols and was in attendance backstage running Monday’s RAW show in Charlotte, North Carolina.
AEW Reportedly was Interested in Signing Cathy Kelly Prior to Her WWE Return
As noted before, WWE recently made several changes to their commentary teams for their RAW, SmackDown, and NXT brands. One of those changes included the return of Cathy Kelly to the company as a backstage interviewer for their RAW brand. Prior to her return, Kelly had previously worked for WWE from 2016 to 2020.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Kelly had been in talks with AEW earlier this year regarding a potential deal with the company. It was reported that these talks included Kelly speaking directly with AEW CEO Tony Khan at some point and it had progressed enough that her potential signing had looked promising.
It was reported that it is currently not known why the talks fell apart nor exactly how far along they were nor which side ended up preventing the deal from being finalized.
It was also reported that Kelly and AEW officials had remained on “solid terms” prior to Kelly’s return to WWE.
