Caprice Coleman Comments on Not Being Originally Booked for ROH Supercard of Honor 2022 Event

A recent episode of the Da Podcast had ROH commentator Caprice Coleman as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Coleman revealing that he was originally not scheduled to work at Ring of Honor’s Supercard of Honor 2022 event this past April. Coleman also revealed that Ian Riccaboni had pushed for ROH to book him for their commentary team for the event.

“When we did the first pay-per-view, Supercard of Honor, I wasn’t booked to be on that. Riccaboni was booked to be on that and he was pitched different color commentators that wasn’t me. Some good names. Riccaboni stuck up for me. That’s my brother, for real. Over the years, he’s proven himself to me on multiple occasions that he has my back and I have his. He stuck up for me at a time when he didn’t have to. He was like, ‘Give Caprice Coleman a chance, give him an opportunity.’ Supercard of Honor was like my tryout for AEW. Riccaboni and I went in there and did us, we did what we normally do. It caught on and it was like, ‘Dang, who is Caprice Coleman?’ It took that for them to see, ‘Wow, he does have something.’ It made me feel some kind of way that it took that, but what really made me feel confident in what I have is when Ring of Honor broke up, and I had to fend on my own in AEW and the opportunities that I got and the response from fans writing in, ‘Caprice Coleman is awesome.’ To see that I’m great with Riccaboni, but I can also stand on my own because he can definitely stand on his own. It makes me see that the gifts God has given me that I can stand on my own on commentary, in the ring, producing, whatever I’m doing. In those aspects, it made me respect that and grateful to have the call in AEW that I’m part of the team going forward.”

Tristen Nash, son of WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash, reportedly recently passed away at the age of 26, according to Fightful. Prior to his passing, Nash had been working on his father’s Kliq This podcast in a statement released by his family.

Marvel recently released the official debut trailer for their upcoming Lucha-based television series on Disney+ called Marvel Lucha Libre Edition: El Origen de la Máscaa. This upcoming series will be featuring talent from Lucha Libre AAA.

Thursday’s Impact Wrestling’s Impact show featured the official announcement of an eight-man tournament to crown a new Impact X-Division Championship following Frankie Kazarian officially invoking Option C. Among those announced for the tournament included former WWE and ROH talent PJ Black.

Impact Wrestling recently announced that they will be holding a new set of Impact! tapings on December 9-10 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. It was also announced that theses upcoming tapings are called Winter Warfare.

Actress Maura Tierney reportedly was recently added to the cast of the upcoming film The Iron Claw based on the Von Erich family, according to Deadline.com. It was reported that Tierney will be portraying Von Erich family matriarch Doris Adkisson in the film.

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced that they will be holding this year’s NJPW Strong themed Detonation event on November 20th in Los Angeles, California.
