Scott D’Amore Comments on Impact’s Return Plans for Canada & United Kingdom

PWInsider held a recent interview with Impact Wrestling Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore. One of the topics discussed included D’Amore’s thoughts on Impact’s current plans to potentially hold live events in Canada and the United Kingdom next year.

“Absolutely. You know, Anthem has a beautiful flagship office right in downtown Toronto. You know, obviously, I’m born and raised and still reside in Windsor, Ontario. You know, we love our Canadian roots. We have a great passionate fan base here. We have a great, passionate, you know, following here that follows us on Fite TV, follows us on Game TV, and follows us through all the other platforms and do we want to return? Absolutely. I think one of the biggest steps was the fact that you know, just as of this past weekend, Canada’s finally lifted a lot of the requirements that could potentially be problematic for coming into the country. So those have been lifted and we look forward to in 2023, seeing a return to Canada and seeing a return to the UK. It’s time for us to get back out there and get to our fans around the world.”

Mickie James Comments on Wanting to Stay in Wrestling After In-Ring Retirement

Impact Wrestling held a recent Bound For Glory Press Pass media scrum with Mickie James as one of the guests. One of the topics discussed included James’ thoughts about wanting to continue a career in wrestling after her in-ring retirement. James also gave her thoughts on what backstage role she would be interested the most for her potential post-in-ring career.

“All of them. I love every, and that’s kind of the beautiful thing, I’ve dedicated over half my life to this business. In that time, I’ve really tried to learn as much as I can about every aspect of the business, from behind the scenes, I’ve been a commentator, I’ve been a producer, I’ve been a trainer. I’ve been a lot of things. There’s a unique sense of joy that I get from each of those things. I could see myself as a manager, I could see myself as a commentator, I could see myself behind the scenes.

What I really love is part of the creative process and to help people find and fine tune, whether it be their promos or the character development, and storylines. I’ve always been, even as a fan, I love wrestling. But it wasn’t the wrestling that made me fall in love with wrestling. It was the storylines and the characters, and so that’s really where my heart mostly is. I feel like that’s where I lot of younger talent need the most kind of guidance because they’re been trained on wrestling, but it’s hard to teach character development and that on switch. It’s hard to define, and I love helping the future. I’m grateful that I have hopefully a little bit of knowledge to share with them. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, I’ve had a lot of successes, but I’ve also made a lot of mistakes. I know people are gonna make their own mistakes and learn from their own mistakes, but perhaps if I can streamline that for them so they don’t make as many and it shortens up that journey for them to get the top, then that might be pretty awesome. I think I would find a genuine reward in that as well.”
