AEW: Josh Woods Contract Update, Jon Moxley on Renee Paquette Signing, Matt Hardy on Career Future

Josh Woods AEW Contract Status Update

As noted before, Josh Woods recently signed a contract with AEW that is believed to be a tiered type deal.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Woods recently signed a full-time multi-year contract with AEW that was stated to be three years in length.

It was reported that it is currently not known when Woods’ full-time deal started nor if his contract contains an option year, which is typical for AEW’s full-time type contracts.

Jon Moxley Comments on Renee Paquette’s Signing with AEW

A recent episode of ESPN’s Cincy 360 podcast had Jon Moxley as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Moxley’s thoughts on his wife Renee Young’s recently debut in AEW and signing with the company.

“I knew she was going to get a giant pop from the crowd. It’s funny, she asked me, ‘Should I introduce myself?’ ‘No, they know who you are. You don’t need to. Take a second or two because you’re coming out and there is going to be a giant reaction before you start talking.’ She’s like, ‘No.’ ‘I’m telling you.’ ‘No.’ Sure enough. I didn’t even see it, I wasn’t looking at the monitor, I was walking down the hallway when she actually stepped out, but I knew just from the sound of the audience, I could tell she walked out onto the stage.’ I heard a ‘AHHHH!’ That was the Renee pop, I knew it. Afterward, she was like, ‘Woah!’ ‘I told you. You gotta listen to me. I know this game.’ That was really cool. She’s been around this whole time and knows people at AEW and has been backstage. It’s been like, ‘You don’t work here? You don’t appear on camera?’ It felt like a formality. ‘You should probably just work here.”

Matt Hardy Comments on Future of His Wrestling Career

A recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast featured co-host Matt Hardy’s thoughts on the future of his wrestling career and being interested in the idea of retiring in AEW.

“I don’t know. In all honesty, I can see myself retiring with AEW, I love being here. I love the family feel that it has and I love just the lack of horseshit and bullshit, you know, it’s pretty much straightforward. Tony [Khan] is really good with working with people and remembering [wrestlers are] human beings, and especially people that have families and allowing them to take time off and address issues that there may be. So he’s great with that. He works around people’s schedules and whatnot. So I love AEW, and I’m very cool with spending the rest of my career in AEW.

With that being said, I love WWE as well. I think it’s a big positive that Triple H has taken over and has been in charge. I would imagine it’s going to continue to change as it evolves over the next few years with him at the helm.”
