This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2022 show at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York featured the official AEW debut of Saraya, former Paige in WWE.
Saraya recently reflected on Twitter about being blown away over the huge crowd reaction she received for her debut in AEW.
Fucking WOW! Absolutely blown away by the pop in the stadium and the reception outside of it. Been a long journey. Couldnāt be happier to be in @AEW thank you to everyone! š„¹š„¹ and thank you to my babe @RonnieRadke for letting me use his song Zombified! LFG!! ā¤ļøā¤ļø pic.twitter.com/9czsEWUcot

In regards to her current medical and wrestling status for AEW, Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Saraya has yet to medically clear for a potential return to in-ring action. Meltzer reported that this was the reason why Saraya did not get in a physical role to break up the post-match attack by Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Serena Deeb to Toni Storm and Athena following the Four-way match for the AEW Interim Women’s World Championship on the show.
Meltzer also reported that it is currently not known how much of an in-ring career Saraya will have in AEW should she be medically cleared at some point.
Saraya has been retired as an active wrestler since 2017 following a neck injury incident during a match against Sasha Banks at the time and WWE’s refusal to ever allow her to be medically cleared while she worked for them.
