As noted before, the September 8th episode of Impact Wrestling’s Impact! drew 60,000 viewers and a 0.01 key demographic rating on AXS TV. It was not known at the time if this was genuine numbers or an error similar to Impact’s listings issues with several cable and satellite television providers in recent weeks.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Impact officials have held a lot of internal talks recently over the ratings numbers from this past Thursday’s show. Johnson reported that one of the reason for the huge drop for last week’s show was due to stiff competition from NFL but he was told by several PWInsider readers that their television providers had listed this past week’s episode as a repeat episode and not as new one.
Johnson reported that it has been confirmed that these listing issues have been affecting Impact viewers who are customers of DirectTV, Verizon Fios, Dish Network, and Comcast. Johnson speculated that due to the listing errors coming from multiple television providers at the same time, the source of this issue might actually be from AXS TV itself, who could be the one passing wrong listing data and not television providers.
