Edge Comments on Triple H Taking Over WWE Creative: “It’s A ‘Really Fun Time’ To Be Involved With WWE”

Bleacher Report held a recent interview with Edge. One of the topics discussed included Edge’s thoughts on Paul “Triple H” Levesque recently taking over as WWE’s Head of Creative.

“I sat down with Paul [Leveseque] and I saw that Toronto was coming. We have this storyline with The Judgment Day. It felt like the perfect opportunity to do what we kind of used to do, which was promote a Raw match almost a month in advance. I thought it seemed like the perfect opportunity and a special moment, too …

I’ve had a lot of creative input and that’s having 25 years of equity with the company. In that regard, it doesn’t change a lot, but what’s so fun to see is that it’s going dressing room-wide now and that’s really cool. I think everyone feels super excited and stoked and just ready to see how certain things go. You can already see that’s happening. I think Paul looks at things like a fan because he still is a fan of this, just like I am. It’s bringing back Karrion Kross and Dakota [Kai]. It’s a really fun time to be involved with the company.”

Shawn Michaels Comments On WWE’s Plans for New NXT Europe Brand

United Kingdom-based newspaper Metro held a recent interview with Shawn Michaels. One of the topics discussed included his thoughts on WWE’s plans to launch a new NXT Europe developmental brand in 2023.

“It’s just a natural expansion of things because that brand, since 2016, has been fantastic. Yes, it’s been quiet and underneath the radar, but I don’t think you’ll find anybody that wouldn’t argue that it’s been a real quality product from its existence. This has been a goal of Hunter’s for quite some time, and I think clearly with what has gone on recently with him taking on creative, he felt that now would be a great time to have the ability to do that. NXT UK was one of the first steps in that process.

We’ve developed a lot of people since that time, a lot of them going to the main roster. I feel like we did a fantastic job with that. But now it is time to grow it internationally, and that’s what NXT Europe is planning to do in 2023. We are in the beginning stages, these are all things we are going to be talking about – but I’ll say this. I really think – I always hate to speak for Hunter, but I always feel like we’re of the same mindset a lot of the time and I think it’s about balance. Certainly, we’re always going to continue to go out there and recruit young, sports-minded athletes, young men and women that want to help WWE grow and expand. But I just don’t think there’s anyway to ignore the talent – and especially the international talent – that’s out there. I don’t think anything is going to be off the table.”

Amir Jordan Comments on WWE Release & Issues with NXT UK Career

As noted before, WWE released Amir Jordan this past Thursday as part of a larger batch of talent releases targetting their NXT UK brand. These releases were part of the fallout of WWE’s recent announcement of the launch of a new NXT Europe brand next year and the hiatus of their NXT UK brand.

Cultaholic held a recent interview with Jordan and one of the topics discussed included his thoughts on his frustrations with his career in WWE’s NXT UK brand.

“I’m the type of person that needs to ‘go go go’. It got frustrating. It’s hard to stay in love with something when it’s not there all the time. I was getting frustrated because I wanted to wrestle more. If that’s the system that they’ve set then you’ve gotta be a professional. There was so many times I considered ‘I don’t know if this is for me’…I knew my contract was up in May next year. A few people talked me down and told me to stick at it.”
