Tony Khan on Not Wanting ROH to Compete Directly Against NFL & AEW
SportsGrid held a recent interview with Ring of Honor owner Tony Khan. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts on not wanting ROH to directly compete against the NFL in regards to his plans for a potential television contract for the company. Khan also stated that he does not want ROH to also compete directly against AEW and feels that a weekend date would make the most sense for ROH TV.
“It is a great thought [ROH television airing on Thursdays], I think it makes a lot of sense. There’s tons of different times. Thursdays make sense but I don’t really want to compete with Thursday Night Football but if the show was at seven then you probably wouldn’t be competing with Thursday Night Football because our games kick off after eight. On the other hand, there’s great history of wrestling on the weekends. I definitely would never put on a show that would compete with Dynamite on Wednesday nights on TBS or Rampage, Friday nights on TNT. So outside of that, I also don’t want to compete with the NFL because I’m a part of the NFL and also, anybody who competes with the NFL is going to get crushed and so, it just doesn’t make sense for anybody including AEW or anyone to try to compete with the NFL because the NFL’s the greatest sporting league in the world and we are the most powerful media machine on the planet.”

Taya Valkyrie Comments on Wanting to Have Intergender Matches in Impact Wrestling
A recent episode of the Gimme A Hull Yeah! podcast had Taya Valkyrie as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Valkyrie’s thoughts on her recent return to Impact Wrestling and their Knockouts Division.
“The roster has grown so much since the last time [I was here]. We have tons of new and talented women coming in. I recently faced Masha Slamovich at Prestige in Oregon, and I’d love to face her again. Gisele Shaw, me and her wrestled in the UK prior to the pandemic. I’d love to face her again. And now we have Killer Kelly coming in, who I have never wrestled, who I’d love to face. There’s just so many really fun new characters to play with. It’s an exiting time
Valkyrie also gave her thoughts on wanting to compete in intergender matches in Impact and who she is interested the most for potential opponents.
“I’d also love to have some intergender matches because I haven’t really touched on that within the world of IMPACT Wrestling. I’m very good at it, I’ve done it for years in Lucha Underground and Lucha Libre AAA, so yeah, I’d love to face Trey Miguel, I’d love to face Chris Bey, there’s just an endless amount of people that I have not gotten in the ring with. It’s a very exciting time.”
