Chris Dickinson Files Defamation Lawsuit Against His Accusers

As noted before, indie wrestler Christina Von Eerie and one other woman accused indie wrestler Chris Dickinson of committing past domestic abuse towards them. In regards to Von Eerie, she also claimed that Dickinson had also destroyed her personal property following their breakup and tried to prevent her from working for promotions and events he did not approve of out of jealously issues.

Fightful’s Skylar Russell reported that Dickinson, real name Chris Torre, filed a defamation lawsuit against both of his ex-girlfriends on July 22nd in the District Court of New Jersey. Dickinson is claiming that the allegations against him are not true. Dickinson is also claiming that these allegations have cost him around $50,000 in lost earnings from Game Changer Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Dickinson is currently requesting a trial by jury for “all issues triable by jury including, but not limited to, those issues and claims set forth in any amended complaint or consolidated action.” Dickinson is also seeking economic damages and for court orders to be issued against his ex-girlfriends to retract their statements made against him.

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced the full card for this Saturday’s High Alert Night 1 themed episode of NJPW Strong, which will air on New Japan World starting at 8:00PM EST.

Starrcast & Mick Foley Files New Trademarks

Starrcast and Mick Foley recently filed several new trademarks to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

A trademark for “Southeast Championship Wrestling” was filed by Starrcast on August 5th for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes. This was the name of a former wrestling promotion that existed in San Antonio, Texas from 1978 to 1985.

A trademark for “Hardcore Legend” was filed by Mick Foley on August 7th for wrestling and merchandise-related purposes.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

As noted before, actor and former WWE writer Freddie Prince Jr. has been working on plans to launch a new wrestling promotion by the end of 2023. During a recent episode of the Wrestling with Freddie podcast, Prince Jr. revealed that he had been in recent talks with Karrion Kross over potential plans to make Kross the first champion of his new company. Those plans were dropped following Kross’ recent return to WWE.

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced that Shingo Takagi will be making an appearance at their NJPW Strong themed Autumn Attack event on September 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Westside Xtreme Wrestling recently announced that “Speedball” Mike Bailey will be making an appearance for the company at their World Tag Team Festival 2022 event on October 1-3 in Oberhausen, Germany.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported on Twitter that prior to this month, the last time that two wrestling promotions managed to have their weekly television shows ranked in the overall Top 5 cable shows in the same week was in April of 1999. This past week’s overall cable television rankings resulted in WWE RAW being ranked first and AEW Dynamite being ranked fifth.
