As noted before, Thunder Rosa recently suffered a back-related injury and was pulled from her scheduled match against Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW’s All Out 2022 event next month.
Fightful Select reported that prior to her injury announcement, their sources stated that Rosa had been dealing with some serious backstage heat within the company.
This heat reportedly primarily revolved around Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter’s issues with Rosa being unsafe to work with in the ring.
In regards to Baker, it was reported that their heat with each other has been going on for over the past year and both legitimately “can’t stand each other.” Despite the issues, it was also reported that Baker and Rosa have remained professional and are still open to working with each other in order to do their jobs.
In regards to Hayter, it was reported that her heat with Rosa revolved around Rosa breaking her nose during their tag team match at AEW’s Battle of the Belts III special earlier this month and her issues with Rosa being too stiff with her ring work.
In regards to the general feeling from AEW’s locker room, it was reported that they had mixed views towards Rosa. Several talent spoken to reportedly praised Rosa for her hard work to get other young women talent booked in AEW while other talents spoken to stated that they view Rosa as having a bad ego and being hard to work with.
In an interesting note and rumor, Voices of Wrestling reported that their sources stated that following her recent tag team match where she injured Hayter, Rosa reportedly hid in a bathroom “all day” over fears that Hayter would shoot fight her backstage as a receipt. Those same sources stated that this was due to Rosa being told by others backstage that Hayter was “coming for her.”
