Show Notes – Opening Bayley & Pals promo about Bayley bashing the crowd and WWE’s Women’s division, Kai claiming they will win the Women’s Tag titles tournament, Bliss, Asuka, & Belair interruption retort, & trios match setup was decent but the big brawl afterwards was cool. Rollins vs. Dawkins moments: Dawkins’ pounce to Rollins into the announcer’s table via Ford’s goofy distraction assist. Rollins’ O’Connor Roll to Dawkins into Rollins’ neckbreaker style rolling punch into Dawkins’ dodges & Sky High counter of Rollins’ curb stomps. Dawkins’ counter of Rollins’ curb stomp into Rollins’ arm yank, pedigree & curb stomp finisher combo counter of Dawkins’ Sky High. Match itself was a quite good action filled bout. Miz & Ciampa backstage interview about Ciampa’s upcoming US title match, Harley Race shoutout, & Ciampa dedicating his match to Race was splendid. Ezekiel vs. Owens was going on decently until the abrupt no contest “injury” ending. Balor’s pre-match promo about Judgement Day not being afraid of Edge & Mysterios, fear being imaginary but danger being real, & Priest’s match request to Edge and promise to end him was decent at best. Balor vs. Mysterio was pretty good despite the ending shenanigans by Ripley. SKY & Kai vs. Brooke & Tamina was a solid back-and-forth bout. US title match moments: Lashley chucking Ciampa onto Miz on the outside. Ciampa’s escape & reverse DDT counter of Lashley’s press slam. Lashley’s escape & spear counter of Ciampa’s Fairy Tale Ending. Ciampa’s escape, shoves into the espoused turnbuckle and post, & knee strike combo counter of Lashley’s Hurt Lock. Ciampa’s toss to the outside & spiked Willow’s Bell combo to Lashley. Lashley’s block, spinebuster, & Hurt Lock finisher combo counter of Ciampa’s running knee. Match itself was a very good hard fought action filled bout. Gable vs. Ziggler was a good back-and-forth bout. Nikki & Doudrop, Bliss & Asuka, and Bayley & Pals backstage segment about Women’s Tag titles tournament was decent but a random crashed car being towed in the background was interesting. Styles vs. Miz moments: Miz’s counter of Styles’ Styles Clash onto the announcer’s table into Miz chucking Styles over the barricade. Styles’ kendo whacks & kendo assisted low blow to Miz. Styles; running forearm strike to Ciampa on the apron through tables on the outside. Miz’s chair toss counter of Styles’ Phenomenal Forearm. Styles’ kick counter of Miz’s Figure Four into a chair in the corner into Styles’ Styles’ Clash finisher. Match itself was an entertaining hardcore bout. Post-match Dexter Lumis surprise appearance in the crowd was pretty cool.

Show Notes – The show opening promo videos from several NXT stars hyping up their matches tonight was an interesting way to start off a show. James vs. Lyons was mostly solid despite being a bit sloppy at times. Crews & Creed Bros backstage segment about Crews & Creeds studying tape, Strong’s upset interruption, & banter was mostly decent. Lee vs. Williams was a mostly solid Brawl For All style bout despite being awkward at times & loaded glove shenanigans ending by Lee. Chase U taped office segment about Grace & Hail’s black eye injury incident, match setup, & Chase’s foul mouthed retort over being potentially sued was a bit funny. Hayes’ promo about him being upset over Lee’s win costing him & Williams plans for an hour long post-match celebration and bashing Frazer, Vinci’s interruption wanting a N.A. title shot and mocking Hayes “A Champ” nickname, banter, & brawl was all right. McDonagh vs. Breakker NXT title match hype video was all right. Crews’ randomly spacing out during his pre-match backstage walk & green vision about a beaten up Diamond Mine was weird. Crews vs. Strong moments: Crews’ catch & deadlift German suplex of Strong’s leaping attack. Strong’s backdrop driver to Crews onto the apron. Strong’s block & backbreaker counter of Crews’ suplex into Crews’ catch & gutbuster counter of Strong’s backbreaker into Crews’ spinebuster style slam finisher to Strong. Match was a good hard fought action filled bout. Lash Legend, Blade, Enofe, & Pretty Deadly rambling backstage segments & abrupt ends each time was a mostly awful. Diamond Mine backstage segment about Creed Bros being puzzled over Crews’ reference earlier, Strong being pissed Creed Bros were not at ringside and his loss, & banter was all right. D’Angelo & Escobar night time outdoor park meeting about D’Angelo being upset at Escobar costing him a win last week, Escobar’s payback retort and mocking D’Angelo over his lack of NXT gold, banter, & match stip of Escobar leaves NXT if he loses but Legado leaves The Family if he wins was superb. Pretty Deadly vs. Blade & Enofe was solid despite the ending shenanigans with Briggs & Jensen. Toxic Attraction promo video about their NXT Tag titles loss & face-like rebellious outlook was a bit odd. Jade vs. Stark moments: Starks’ dodge counter of Jade’s pipe swing into Stark’s German suplex bending Jade in half. Ouch at Jade’s head after getting spiked hard from Stark’s second German suplex. Roxanne Perez’s pipe grab distraction into Starks’ superkick & flip over GTS finisher to Jade. Match itself was a solid back-and-forth bout but the ending sequence was entertaining.

Show Notes – Rodriguez & Aliyah vs. Li & Shozti opener was a solid back-and-forth bout despite being a bit sloppy at times. Kross’ overly melodramatic dim lit backstage promo about his & Scarlett’s WWE return, attack on McIntyre, & threat to the Bloodline was a bit corny. McIntyre’s promo about Kross’ attack on him last week, his three options offer to Kross for painful revenge, badmouth Roman Reigns and Bloodline, interruption by Scarlett, & Usos’ ambush attack to McIntyre and staredown with Scarlett was all right. IC title legacy hype video package was great. Sami Zayn & Usos’s brief backstage talk & McIntyre’s ambush attack getting revenge over the Usos attack earlier was all right. Hit Row’s surprise return was decent but without Swerve Strickland the group is mostly meaningless. Hit Row vs. jobbers was a fine squash bout. Ronda Rousey’s promo hijacking the SD Women’s title match contract segment about her suspension & big bag of cash was mostly awful in terms of delivery while Baszler’s abrupt face-like response to Rousey over her attack on security was weird. SD Women’s title match contract signing segment about Baszler going right back to a heelish promo bashing Morgan, Morgan’s retort mocking Baszler for being a bootleg Rousey and arrogant boasting over beating Rousey, & brawl was decent. Usos & Zayn’s backstage segment about the Usos being pissed at Zayn bailing on them earlier was all right. Usos vs. McIntyre & Moss was a pretty good back-and-forth action bout, especially the latter half. Post-match attack with Zayn shoving Jey out of the way & eating a Claymore Kick was all right. Maximum Male Models & Los Lotharios backstage segment about Lotharios’ interrupting the photo shoot, claiming they were more beautiful, & hitting on Maxxine Dupri was decent. Nakamura vs. Gunther match hype video was splendid. Zoey Stark & Nikkita Lyons SD debut vignette was all right. IC title match moments: Gunther’s swift stiff chop flooring Nakamura into Gunther’s Boston Crab & STF combo. Nakamura’s kicks to Gunther into Gunther’s stiff chop into Nakamura’s Crucifix hold into Gunther’s escape & head stomps counter. Gunther’s murder chop flooring Nakamura. Nakumra’s catch & Triangle hold counter of Gunter’s top rope splash into Gunther’s lift & underhook overhead suplex counter. Nakamura’s knee strike counter of Gunther’s running attack. Gunther’s clothesline counter of Nakamura’s Kinshasa. Gunther’s stiff chop & rear naked choke into Nakamura’s arm yanks escape counter into Gunther’s dropkick to the back of the head & powerbomb finisher. Match itself was a great back-and-forth hard hitting action filled bout.

Post-match promo by Vicky Guerrero bashing the crowd, revealing that her group is now called Best of Burdens, & Rose and Shafir’s post-match attack was all right. Statlander vs. Sierra was a solid back-and-forth bout despite Statlander suffering a potential knee injury at the end. Kiss, Clayton, & Walker vs. The Trustbusters Trios Tag moments: Kiss’ sliding dodge, rana, & cartwheel forearm strike combo counter of Slim J’s running attack. Lethal & Pals promo boasting about Singh manhandling Wardlow last week and TNT title match demand, Wardlow accepting & threat to beat them all up, FTR backing up Wardlow & brawl was decent. Gunn Club backstage interview about Billy being upset over his sons losing a dumpster match, Stokely’s interruption mocking Billy and offering his services to Billy’s sons, Danhausen interruption, & match setup was okay. TBS title match was a mostly solid back-and-forth bout despite being a bit sloppy at times. Post-match ambush attack by Athena was decent. AEW Interim title moments: Moxley & Jericho’s chops exchange into Moxley’s snapemare & stiff kick into Jericho’s snapmare, stiff kick, neck crank, & ear ring yank out. Ouch at Moxley’s bloody ear afterwards. Jericho’s backbreaker & Lionsault to Moxley into Moxley’s armbar into Jericho’s ecape & seated arms yank hold into Moxley’s escape & ankle lock. Match itself was a very good hard fought action filled bout. Impact title match contract signing segment about Alexander praising Shelley over his greatness and impact in the wrestling industry & boasting he will beat the “Real” Shelley, & Shelley’s retort boasting about MCMG and claiming Alexander is not different than other “Shelley clones”, Alexander’s dig retort about him being more like Sabin in terms of big success, & insults banter was great.
Final Thoughts – This week’s Emergence 2022 go-home show was very enjoyable overall.
