More on Brock Lesnar’s Walkout & Return at Last Week’s SmackDown
As noted before, Brock Lesnar was involved in a walkout incident prior to the start of this past Friday’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown in Boston, Massachusetts. Lesnar had walked out due to him being upset over Vince McMahon’s departure from the company but returned in time to participate in the show’s closing segment with Theory.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Lesnar had walked out from his scheduled appearance at around 1:30PM EST and returned backstage at around 8:30PM EST. Meltzer reported that the exact details of what took place during Lesnar’s backstage incident are still not known and are being kept as a secret by WWE officials.
Meltzer reported that the current belief from his sources is that WWE officials kept in contact with Lesnar following his walk out incident and managed to make a deal with him to return in time for the show.
One person spoken to stated that the worst thing that could have happened was for WWE to appear publicly as if it was in chaos after McMahon’s departure over their most famous current wrestler walking out of the company and having to quickly change their high profile main event match for this Saturday’s SummerSlam 2022 event as a result. This person stated that it was imperative for WWE to resolve Lesnar’s issues and have him appear on that night’s SmackDown show.
Meltzer reported that WWE officials did have alternate plans in place for the show that did not feature Lesnar had he not returned.
Alexa Bliss Comments on Her Character Currently Being in Limbo
United Kingdom-based newspaper Metro held a recent interview with Alexa Bliss. One of the topics discussed included Bliss’ thoughts on her current character in WWE currently being in a limbo state.
“Now I’m in this limbo of, I don’t really know where I’m going with my character yet. I kind of evolved so many times in the last nine years – I feel like I’ve had more characters than any other woman on the roster,’ she smiled. So now, it’s finding where I fit, what character is needed for the show. Right now, I’m just me and I don’t like that for TV. I like me for me outside in life, but for TV – Lexi is not entertaining …
I’m stuck trying to figure out what that is, especially after therapy, after taking away all the aspects of what the dark, evil Alexa was. But still having Lilly and being able to understand that Lilly is now an accessory, not as a focal point. It’s finding that creative process of trying to figure out what’s gonna be, one, fun for me, two, what’s gonna relate to an audience, and what’s gonna be easy for the writers to write for.”
