More on WWE NXT Viewership for June 28th

The June 28th episode of WWE NXT saw NXT suffer large declines in overall viewership, key demographic ratings, and key demographics rankings.

NXT drew 570,000 viewers and a 0.11 key demographic rating on USA Network. NXT’s key demographic ranking for that night was 42nd place.

Detailed viewership and key demographic breakdowns were not available in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for NXT’s declines this week was due to large decline from their Teenagers and younger key demographic viewership group, which were down 52.9% and 50% respectively compared to last week’s show. Another reason was due to the large decline from their older key demographic viewership group, which was down 34.6% compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the gains from their Over 50 viewership group, which was up 3.1% compared to last week’s show.

In terms of head-to-head competition, the MLB game of Houston Astros vs. New York Mets drew 226,000 viewers on TBS, Little People, Big World drew 1,270,000 viewers on TLC, Deadliest Catch drew 891,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, and Deadliest Catch: Bloodline drew 683,000 viewers on Discovery Channel.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 149,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership split was 110,000 male viewers and 39,000 female viewers.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was down 10.4% in overall viewership and down 13.4% in key demographic viewership.


More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for June 29th

The June 29th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a large increase in overall viewership and key demographic ratings. This week’s episode was notable for being the Blood & Guts 2022 themed special.

AEW drew 1,023,000 viewers and a 0.36 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 1st place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s increases this week was due the gains from their Teenagers, older key demographic viewership, and Over 50 viewership groups, which were up 27.3%, 21%, and 16.7% respectively compared to last week’s show. This week’s show was the highest viewed show for AEW since their March 23rd episode.

In terms of head-to-head competition, the MLB simulcast games of Atlanta vs. Philadelphia and Boston vs. Toronto drew 281,000 viewers on MLB Network and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drew 1,035,000 viewers on Bravo.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 472,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 was up 20%, Females 18-34 was up 1.4%, Males 35-49 was up 22.2%, and Females 35-49 was up 17.4% compared to last week’s show.

In terms of the one million viewership milestone, five out of AEW’s eight quarters averaged one million or more viewers. AEW’s quarter peak was at 1,075,000 viewers for their seventh and eighth quarter and their quarter low point was at 953,000 viewers for their third quarter.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was up 15.9% in overall viewership and up 4.4% in key demographic viewership.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 1,025,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the first quarter of the Blood & Guts match of Jericho Appreciation Society vs. Blackpool Combat Club, Eddie Kingston, Santana, & Ortiz. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Christian Cage interview segment, the Luchasaurus vs. Serpentico match, and the Scorpio Sky & Wardlow backstage interview segment which lost 39,000 viewers.


More on AEW Rampage Viewership for June 24th

The June 24th episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW gain a large increase in overall viewership but suffered a small decline in key demographic rankings.

AEW Rampage drew 422,000 viewers and a 0.12 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that week’s show was 26th place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s mixed results that week was due to large gains from their female key demographic viewership and younger key demographic viewership groups, which were up 20.4% and 33.3% respectively compared to the prior week’s show. Another reason was due to the large gains from their Teenagers and Over 50 viewership groups, which were up 100% and 23.5% respectively compared to the prior week’s show. This reportedly offset the declines from their male key demographic viewership and older key demographic viewership groups, which were down 8.4% and 4.8% respectively compared to the prior week’s show.

In terms of head-to-head competition, NASCAR Trucks Racing drew 534,000 viewers on FS1 and 90 Day Fiance First Look drew 833,000 viewers on TLC.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 157,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that week’s Rampage show did not chart in the Top 10 youngest skewing sports show for the week while that week’s Dynamite show was the youngest skewing sports show.
