AEW: Kenny Omega’s Injury Return Plans, Rick Starks on AEW Tag Titles Match, Dark Results

Kenny Omega Injury Status Update & AEW Return Plans

As noted before, Kenny Omega has been out of action for AEW since this past November due to him having surgery and rehabbing from multiple injuries.

Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed the Wrestling Observer’s recent report of AEW officials currently planning for the Young Bucks to be involved in a major angle soon. This reportedly was the reason why AEW held off on doing another Young Bucks vs. FTR match featuring the AAA, IWGP, AEW, and ROH Tag Team titles and why the Young Bucks dropped their AEW Tag Team titles last week.

Those same sources also stated that AEW officials currently have tentative plans for Omega to make his return from injury prior to this September’s All Out 2022 event. These plans reportedly include Omega and the Young Bucks teaming up together in a Six-Man Tag Team match against Adam Cole and reDRagon at the event.

Ricky Starks Comments on AEW Tag Team Championship Triple or Nothing Match & His Current Goals with Powerhouse Hobbs

K&S WrestleFest held a recent virtual fan signing event with Ricky Starks. One of the topics discussed included Starks’ thoughts on competing in the triple threat match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship during last week’s AEW Dynamite Fyter Fest Week 1 show.

“We [Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs] didn’t win the [AEW] Tag Team Titles and that’s cool. I think it’s time to move on from that whole thing. I really think you can expect me and Hobbs to try to find something other, whether that’s singles or tag team, to try to occupy. I’m really excited for this next few months, especially as we get closer to the end of the year as well. All Out’s coming up so I’m hoping that me and Hobbs have something of substance and importance on there. So, I think we have a good enough momentum that we’ve built up since the beginning of this year. It’s just a matter of trying to keep that going and you know, I thought we would’ve had the Tag Team Titles last week but that didn’t happen and you can’t stop there.”
