AEW talent Jake Atlas reportedly was involved in a domestic violence incident resulting in his arrest this past May in Orlando, Florida, according to Fightful.
Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert reported that the Orange County police report stated that Atlas, real name Kenny Sanchez, went out drinking on May 22nd and had called his partner to pick him up from a bar. Atlas reportedly wanted his partner to drink with him at the bar and then go with him back to a female friend’s house to take part in sexual activities. It was reported that Atlas became upset after his partner showed more attention to the female friend than towards him, which started a huge verbal argument between Atlas and his partner, according to a statement given by Atlas’ partner to police.
The police report stated that this argument turned aggressive with Atlas becoming physically aggressive and charged at his partner. A witness reportedly stepped in to prevent Atlas from attacking his partner. Atlas’ partner reportedly left afterwards but Atlas continued to yell and attempted to attack him again, which resulted in scratches and a torn tank top suffered by the victim. This same witness reportedly separated the duo and put Atlas in his car.
The police report stated that the witness had agreed to let Atlas back in the house to get his dog but when Atlas refused to leave and continued arguing, Atlas’ partner called the police due to him feeling that Atlas was not going to calm down. Following their arrival to the scene, Atlas was arrested by police for misdemeanor battery (domestic assault) based on statements received and the visible scratches left on his partner’s arm.
Atlas reportedly signed a no-contact order agreeing to not have any communication and stay 500 feet away from his victim on the same day he was arrested. Atlas was released from jail on the same day and is currently scheduled to appear before an Orange County court on June 28th.
