W. Morrissey on His Current Career in Impact Wrestling
A recent episode of The Sessions with Renee Paquette podcast had Impact Wrestling talent W. Morrissey as the guest. One of the topics discussed included his thoughts on his current career in Impact.
“Yeah, IMPACT has been great. The crew there has been awesome. The writing team is fucking awesome. I really like it there. Now that I’m sober and have a good head on my shoulders, I feel like I’m doing the best work of my career. I feel like I’m getting better and better each time I’m out there. I feel like I’m reaching for that potential I talked about. I feel myself getting more confident. I feel myself getting better. Even when I watch my stuff back, I am getting better. It’s been a really good experience at IMPACT, it’s really awesome there. Everybody’s cool. I think it was the perfect place to come back into [TV wrestling]. It’s given me an opportunity to grow and pitch ideas for myself and try to work with them to [bring out the best in me].”

Adam Cole Comments on AEW & NJPW Partnering Together for Forbidden Door Event
Professional wrestling journalist Stephanie Chase held a recent interview with Adam Cole. One of the topics discussed included Cole’s thoughts about AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s upcoming joint Forbidden Door event.
“Everyone, as far as in the locker room, everyone is so stoked for this [Forbidden Door show]. Again, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has some of the best pro wrestlers on the planet. I know a lot of people who do watch AEW also watch New Japan Pro-Wrestling and there’s a lot of people who watch one or the other. There’s some people that have never watched AEW that just support New Japan and there’s some people that just watch AEW and have never seen New Japan before so it’s like this really exciting combination of a bunch of people who know and are like, ‘Guys, trust us. This show is gonna be awesome’ and then there’s a bunch of people who are very excited to see some of these guys or some matches that they’ve never seen before so, yeah, I’m thrilled with the idea. I think the world of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Some of my fondest moments years ago were over in New Japan so yeah, I’m very, very excited for this event. I think it’s gonna be awesome.”
Cole also gave his thoughts about him getting the honor to deliver the big announcement of a joint event between both companies during the April 20th episode of AEW Dynamite.
“It was a lot of pressure [making the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door announcement]. It was a lot of pressure which by the way too, not that this matters but the announcement that I had made backstage, that was very live. That was not a taped thing. That was happening in the moment and again, I know that a lot of people are very excited about this show, very excited about the announcement so while still being Adam Cole but being able to deliver this really, really cool news was like — aside from it being a lot of pressure, it was so cool. The fact that I got to be the one to talk about it was awesome so…”
On the topic of who he is interested the most from NJPW for a match at AEW and NJPW’s upcoming Forbidden Door event, Cole stated:
“So I’ve never had a singles match with [Kazuchika] Okada. I’ve wrestled Okada before in like a six-man tag team match in Ring of Honor but we barely had any interaction together. I’ve wrestled [Hiroshi] Tanahashi, just wrestled [Tomohiro] Ishii which was really cool. Wrestled Jushin Liger, YOSHI-HASHI, so many different guys but I would love a classic one-on-one singles match with Okada at some point. I think that’d be really cool.”

Maria Kanellis Comments on Her Vision for Her Women’s Wrestling Army Company
A recent episode of the Bleav in Pro Wrestling podcast had Maria Kanellis as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Kanellis’ thoughts on her vision for her Women’s Wrestling Army promotion.
“Women’s Wrestling Army is a brand new all women’s wrestling show. It is going to be this very nice mix of documentary style footage plus amazing matches within the confines of a ring. And there’ll also be backstage interviews. It’s going to be in a lot of ways, a regular wrestling show other than the documentary footage.
After we found out the news that Ring of Honor was no longer going to be with Sinclair Broadcasting, several women had asked Bobby (Cruise) and I to start something. I was very hesitant. I’ve owned a event management company now for about four years and I don’t love it. Owning a business is not my favorite thing. I thought I would love it, but I don’t. And so owning a wrestling promotion was not like it wasn’t something I was dying to do. I liked my situation that I had last year. Ring of Honor went, they set up everything. They had all the pretty lights and the ramp and all of the stuff. And I brought the division. Bobby Cruise and I created the team. That was perfect. So I’m very hesitant on the whole thing because it isn’t necessarily where I envisioned myself, but I do have to say the response has been tremendous
We have individuals from IMPACT Wrestling, AEW, and former talent for NXT. So we have a lot of big names on the show thus far. I wanna dive into it further. For me, my big vision is a Tournament of Champions. Make it so you have to have a title in order to enter. Your title will be your ticket to enter this competition. Is it going to be hard? Of course it is, but I wanna give the proper respect to all of the companies and all of the talent. I’ve worked for most of them. So like for me, it’s definitely a respect shown there, but it’s also a respect towards the women that have worked so hard.”
