Alexa Bliss has been absent from WWE programming since WWE’s Elimination Chamber 2022 event this past February. Prior to her appearance at the event, Bliss had been out of action for the company since this past September due to sinus-related surgery rehab. During her time away, Bliss married her fiancĂ© earlier this month in Palm Springs, California.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE officials did not have any substantial creative plans in place for Bliss when she made her return to the ring at their Elimination Chamber 2022 event. Those same sources also stated that Bliss had been vocal about her displeasure over the lack of creative direction for her in the days leading up to the event.
It was also reported that despite not being booked for WrestleMania 38, WWE’s creative team had been informed that she was willing to work at the event. Several pitches reportedly were made to involve her in the RAW Women’s Championship match between Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch but those ideas were quickly shot down. It was reported that it is currently not known if those pitches were made from Bliss or from someone within creative.
It was also reported that WWE officials had made the decision at the end of this past February to not use Bliss for WrestleMania 38. That decision reportedly led to WWE’s booking priority for Bliss to be significantly shifted away following her return vignettes.
In regards to her booking issues, talent and creative reportedly had been informed about Bliss being very transparent over her frustration over her lack of booking plans after being out of action for the company for half a year. Several talent spoken to stated that Bliss had talks directly with Vince McMahon backstage over these issues.
Despite her lack of booking, it was reported that Bliss is still listed internally as the number two babyface star for the RAW brand.
It was reported that it is currently not known if WWE has any plans in place for Bliss’ return from her current honeymoon break.
