Tony Khan’s “major announcement” tonight on Dynamite was that there will be a joint AEW-NJPW PPV called “Forbidden Door” on Sunday, June 26 at the United Center in Chicago.
Khan was introduced onto the stage by Tony Schiavone, and Khan then introduced NJPW president Takami Ohbari. Adam Cole then interrupted on the big screen and said that he was the person who should make an announcement of this magnitude, so he went on to make the announcement, then introduced Jay White, who came out and cut a quick promo hyping up the show.
Cole also announced that he’ll wrestle NJPW’s Tomohiro Ishii this Friday on Rampage.
Tickets will go on sale on Friday, May 6 at 10 AM CT on AEWtix.com and Ticketmaster.com.
