MLW Antitrust Lawsuit Against WWE Update
As noted before, Major League Wrestling recently filed an antitrust lawsuit against WWE. MLW is claiming that WWE illegally interfered in several of their business deals with television networks causing those deals to be dropped and engaged in contract tampering with several of their contracted talent.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that as of the end of this past January, WWE had yet to officially respond to MLW’s lawsuit against them.
Johnson reported that MLW filed a request on January 25th to the U.S. District Court, California Northern District to have their lawsuit heard before a United States District Court Judge instead of a Magistrate Judge. The reason reportedly is due to a District Court judge has more power legally than a Magistrate judge in the U.S. judicial system.
Johnson also reported that MLW’s lawsuit case was recently assigned to a new presiding judge. This new judge reportedly ordered a case management plan be filed by both parties by April 11th and scheduled a case management meeting to take place on April 21st in Oakland, California.
