More on Ronda Rousey’s Rumored Appearance at WWE’s Royal Rumble Event

As noted before, WWE is currently rumored to be working on plans for Ronda Rousey to make her return to the company at this Saturday’s Royal Rumble 2022 event in St. Louis Missouri.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources within WWE stated that at least one WWE official flew to California last week for talks with Rousey regarding potential return plans. Johnson also reported that Rousey’s makeup artist and stylist, Abraham Esparza, is currently scheduled to be backstage during this Saturday’s Royal Rumble 2022 event. Johnson also reported that WWE officials have left the decision on if she wants to return or not entirely up to Rousey.

In regards to potential WrestleMania 38 plans, Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE officials are currently planning for Rousey to face off against Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Championship at the event. Meltzer reported that the reason for this potential match and return plans for Rousey is due to the company wanting to generate additional mainstream press buzz for this year’s WrestleMania event.

Johnny Knoxville Comments on Upcoming Royal Rumble 2022 Appearance

A recent episode of The Howard Stern Show had actor Johnny Knoxville as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Knoxville revealing the process that led to his recent involvement with WWE and their upcoming Men’s Royal Rumble match.

“We were doing promotion backstage at WWE and their head writer took me and Jeff Tremaine out in the hall and he’s like, ‘you want to make a run for the Rumble?’ I was like, ‘Yeah…what do you mean?’ ‘The Royal Rumble.’ ‘Oh, yeah, for sure.’ Then, I’ve just been training 24/7, flipping huge truck tires over the fence. The neighbors are so angry. Truck tires weigh about the same as that pretty boy Austin Theory.”

Knoxville also stated that he will be bringing some of his Jackass cast members and friends with him for this Saturday’s Royal Rumble event.

“I’ve got some corner men I’m bringing with me. I’m going to have the greatest corner there that night.”

Additional Rumored Surprise Entrants for the Men’s & Women’s Royal Rumble Matches

As noted before, WWE recently announced that several former female WWE talents will be competing as surprise entrants for their upcoming Women’s Royal Rumble match at this Saturday’s Royal Rumble 2022 event in St. Louis, Missouri.

In regards to the Women’s Royal Rumble match, Fightful Select reported that their sources within the company stated that WWE officials recently held internal talks over the idea of Asuka making her return as a surprise entrant for the match. In a separate report, WWE officials also reportedly currently have plans for Kairi Sane to make an appearance as a surprise entrant for the match.

In regards to the Men’s Royal Rumble match, Ringside News reported that their sources within the company stated that WWE officials currently have plans for both Shane McMahon and Bad Bunny to make appearances as surprise entrants for this match.
