Show Notes – Opening Lynch promo about Women’s Rumble and besmirching Doudrop & interruption responses by Doudrop, Belair, & Morgan was mostly decent. Women’s tag match was somewhat decent despite the very dumb & messy ending sequence by Doudrop. KO Show segment about Rollins bad mouthing Roman Reigns, Owens’ “big announcement” being his entry in the Men’s Rumble, & Priest’s interruption bashing both guys was all right. Owens vs. Priest was a pretty good back-and-forth action match despite the anti-climatic ending. Alpha Academy Graduation ceremony segment about Gable’s rambling speech, interruption by Riddle in a graduation gown, & banter was goofy but also funny, especially Otis’ surprised reaction to Gable’s academic games challenge. Theory & Vince McMahon office segment about Theory’s loss last week & Vince threatening to beat up Theory was both weird & a bit funny. Carmella & Queen Zelina promo bashing Ripley & Nikki was nothing special but still less of a waste of time unlike the Ripley vs. Nikki non-match. Reggie & Dana Brooke backstage segment about Reggie’s fear of Omos with R-Truth & Pals chilling & eating popcorn in the background was a bit funny. Maryse & Beth Phoenix face-to-face promo segment about their upcoming Mixed Tag match, Maryse mimicking Miz catchphrases, & brawl was okay. Street Profits & Mysterios pre-match backstage segment about the Men’s Rumble was corny. Lesnar vs. Lashley career retrospective hype video was great. Alexa Bliss’ therapy segment was lame. Lashley’s catch & overhead suplex counter of Rollins dive to the outside was nice. Lashley’s top rope overhead suplex to Rollins launching him across the ring was cool. Lashley vs. Rollins was a good back-and-forth action match despite the lame DQ ending by Hurt Business. This week’s show was mostly average overall.

Show Notes – Opening LA Knight promo badmouthing Waller, interruption response and restraining order by Waller, & brawl tease with Lumis was all right. Saurav Gurjar’s surprise appearance & attack on Lumis to help out Waller behind the ref’s back was interesting. Waller vs. Lumis was a solid match. Ouch at Brutus’ busted mouth after Jensen stiff knee strike. Creed Bros’ suplex, Torture Rack style powerbomb, & sliding clothesline combo finisher to Briggs was sweet. Creed Bros vs. Briggs & Jensen was a good back-and-forth hard hitting bout. Chen’s NXT return vignette was splendid. Chen vs. Raaj was going on decently until the lame DQ ending by Duke Hudson. Bron Breakker backstage interview about his NXT title & Santos Escobar & interruption by Legado was all right. Tony D’Angelo’s “Pete Dunne memorial” segment was a bit funny. D’Angelo, Trick Williams, Carmelo Hayes, & Cameron Grimes promo segment afterwards about N.A. title was all right. Brooks, Jensen, Catanzaro, & Carter locker room segment was cringey. Valentina Feroz & Leon vignette and backstage interview about Women’s Dusty Tag Classic & interruption by Kai was rough. Ray vs. Nile was mostly solid despite the ending shenanigans by Mandy Rose & its rough pacing at times. Sarray’s vignette about her new magical necklace & Japanese school girl look was weird. Legado vs. Blade & Enofe was mostly solid despite the ringside ending shenanigans by Escobar & Breakker. Strong’s loud stiff chop to WALTER & getting floored from WALTER’s stiff chop in return was cool. WALTER’s catch & back drop onto the apron counter of Strong’s dive to the outside was nice. Strong’s superplex to WALTER was impressive. WALETR’s stiff chop flooring Strong was sweet. WALTER vs. Strong was a very entertaining hard hitting battle. Post-match Imperium & Diamond Mine brawl was splendid. This week’s show was average at best overall.

Show Notes – Opening Usos & Roman Reigns promo & vignette boasting about Reigns’ Universal title reign record, interruption banter by Rollins, & surprise appearance by Owens was all right despite dragging too long. Happy Corbin & Moss pre-match promo about Moss’ win over Kingston last week & Moss’ lame Kofi joke was nothing special. Moss vs. Kingston was a solid match. Aliyah vs. Natayla was mostly a dud topped by the lame DQ ending by Natayla. Post-match brawl with Xia Li was decent but Li’s lighting style AR graphics comes off more goofy than WWE likely expected due to its poor placement. Ivar’s spinning heel kick to Humberto flooring him was nice. Los Lotharios vs. Vikings Raiders was a solid brief match. Flair’s Boston Crab counter of Naomi’s head scissors was nice. Naomi vs. Flair was mostly decent despite the lame ending shenanigans by special guest ref Sonya Deville. Sami Zayn’s “In-Zayn” self defense comedic segment with Johnny Knoxville was funny despite the corny fake zapping sound effects. Eric Bischoff, Pearce, & Deville backstage office segment about Deville antics’ earlier & match setup with Naomi was decent. Sheamus’ swift kick counter of Ricochet’s suicide dive to the outside was nice. Sheamus vs. Ricochet was a decent mostly squash match. Nakamura, Boogs, & surprise Jeff Jarrett backstage segment was all right. Owens’ cannonball to Jimmy Uso in the corner looked brutal. Jimmy’s knees counter of Owens’ Swanton was nice. Rollins’ suicide dive to both Usos on the outside was nice. Owens’ top rope Inverted fisherman suplex to Jimmy was cool. Usos vs. Owens & Rollins was a very good back-and-forth action filled match despite the buzzkill DQ ending by Reigns that made him look like a big moron. This week’s show was average at best overall but also mostly dull.

Show Notes – Moriarty’s leap-over arm drag to Miller via Kross assist was nice. Sydal & Moriarty vs. Miller & Kross opener was a decent mostly squash style match. Conti’s modified Crucifix Bossman Slam to Ameera was nice. Conti vs. Ameera was a decent squash match. Gunn Club vs. Cole & T.I.M. was a solid at best match. Kozone’s sit-out Uranage counter of Kazarian’s running attack was cool. Kazarian vs. Kozone was a solid back-and-forth style match. Soho’s No Future finisher counter outta nowhere of Paige’s full nelson suplex was nice. Soho vs. Paige was a pretty good back-and-forth action match. Private Party vs. Emory & Scott was a decent squash style bout. Lethal vs. Moss was a pretty good & surprisingly competitive match. This week’s show was mostly average overall but also very skippable.

Show Notes – Kaun’s gutbuster to Cole was nice. Cole vs. Kaun opener was a pretty good & surprisingly competitive back-and-forth style bout. Cole’s post-match “story time” promo praising Britt Baker, boasting about himself, & mocking Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander was fine. Hirsch’s gutwrench suplex to Perez was nice. Hirsch’s German suplex counter of Perez’s cazadora was nice. Hirsch vs. Perez was a solid back-and-forth competitive bout. Archer vs. Cross was a fine jobber destruction bout. Varsity Blonds vs. Gray & Alanis was a solid brief match. Varsity Blonds’ post-match interview about their issues with House of Black was all right. Blue vs. Renegade was a decent at best match despite being a bit rough at times. Jay vs. Nieves was a decent mostly squash style match. Garcia’s Bow & Arrow submission to Greene was nice. Garcia’s Boston Crab counter of Greene’s sunset flip was nice. Greene’s tilt-a-whirl flapjack to Garcia looked brutal. Greene’s Dr. Bomb to Garcia was cool. Greene vs. Garcia was a quite good back-and-forth action filled match. Garcia & 2point0 post-match interview about their issues with Jericho and Inner Circle & Garcia’s TNT title goal was splendid. Cassidy’s nonchalant tag out after getting a stiff chop by Drake was funny. Yuta’s springboard arm drag to Drake was nice. Drake managed to get some sweet air with his toss to Yuta. Cassidy’s Slumdog Millionaire & Yuta’s German suplex combo to Avalon was nice. Wingmen vs. Cassidy & Yuta was a good back-and-forth action match. This week’s show was enjoyable overall.

Show Notes – Jon Moxley dropping the F bomb uncensored on TBS was funny. Opening Moxley passionate promo about his “scars” & plans to “grab wrestling by the balls” was great. MJF’s backstage promo about CM Punk’s “tainted” win over Wardlow & MJF’s half-assed apology to Wardlow was all right. Statlander’s Pendulum moonsault to Baker on the outside was nice. Statlander’s Area 451 splash to Cole & Baker was cool. Baker’s Destroyer to Statlander onto the ramp was cool. Baker’s table crash spot was goofy due to Cassidy barely touched her. Mixed Tag was a very good action filled match despite the flat ending. Santana & Ortiz teasing a split from Inner Circle was interesting. Cody’s delusional promo about AEW’s “Revolution”, Forbidden Door, dig at WWE for WALTER name change, & TNT title was mostly superb. Cargill & Anna Jay backstage interview about TBS title match was decent. House of Black entrance theme is a banger. HoB vs. Varsity Blonds was a fine squash style match. PAC’s video promo to Black promising retribution & healed eyes reveal was awesome. Archer vs. Page match hype video was splendid. Kazarian vs. Archer was a mostly decent extended squash despite dragging too long. Dan Lambert & Archer post-match promo trashing Hangman Page & brawl with Page was fine. HOOK hype vignette was excellent. Andrade becoming new majority owner of The HFO is interesting. Acclaimed’s Sting & Allin entrance video parody was funny. Max Caster’s pre-match rap mocking WWE’s “gory mutilation” dig at AEW & Sting at Starrcade ’97 was wonderful. Sting’s no sell of Bowens’ discus punch while having Caster in the Scorpion Deathlock was cool. Allin’s dive outta nowhere to Caster from the stage was awesome. Sting’s dive off the stage to Caster through a table was crazy. Acclaimed vs. Allin & Sting was an entertaining match. This week’s show was very enjoyable overall & better paced than last week’s show.

AEW Rampage (Jan. 21)

Show Notes – Moxley’s release German to Page was nice & same for his rebound German suplex afterwards. Page’s brainbuster to Moxley was nice. Page’s Avalanche powerslam to Moxley was cool. Mooxley vs. Page opener was a pretty good back-and-forth action match. Post-match Moxley & Bryan Danielson confrontation & potential feud tease was sweet. Yikes at Nick Jackson’s awful looking dive to Trent on the outside. Trent’s clotheslnie to Jackson bending him in half was cool. Trent’s deadlift German to Jackson was nice. Trent’s Tornado DDT to Jackson via corner assist was nice. Jackson’s Destroyer to Trent was nice. Trent’s lariat to Jackson spinning him to the mat was cool. Ouch at the loud thud after Jackson’s Swanton to Trent on the ramp. Jackson’s 450 Splash to Trent was cool. Jackson vs. Beretta was a very entertaining action packed match. Mercedes Martinez vs. Thunder Rosa feud hype vignette was splendid. HOOK’s vicious looking STOs to Serpentico was cool. Hook’s arm & shoulder suplex to Serpentico was nice. HOOK vs. Serpentico was a fun jobber destruction match. Post-match insults promo by QT Marshall & HOOK’s T-Bone suplex response onto the stage was splendid. Cargill & Jay split-screen backstage pre-match interview was somewhat decent. Cargill’s catch & fallaway slam counter of Jay’s crossbody was nice. John Silver & Cargill’s muscles show-off antics on the outside was a bit funny but Jay’s running stiff punch to Cargill afterwards looked brutal. Cargill’s stiff pump kick to Jay was cool. Cargill’s one-arm powerbomb counter of Jay’s spinning heel kick in the corner was cool. TBS title was a pretty good back-and-forth match. This week’s show was very enjoyable overall.

Show Notes – Moriarty vs. Woods opener was a good back-and-forth grapple heavy bout. Only two people being allowed in the ring & tag rules setup is an interesting twist for a 4-way match. Khash’s powerbomb style knee breaker to Priest was cool. Priest’s deadlift suplex to Garcia was nice. JDX’s STO to Garcia & DDT to Khash at the same time was cool. Khash’s pop-up German suplex to Garcia was cool. 4-Way Eliminator was an entertaining action filled bout despite the ref botching the first elimination call. Moose getting a foul for tossing Bennett over the top rope is the one rule I dislike the most in Terminus’ rule book. Moose vs. Bennett was going on well until the buzzkill foul-based DQ ending by Moose. Diamante vs. Kai was a mostly solid match despite being a bit rough at times. Hogan’s head scissors counter of Grace’s powerbomb was nice. Grace’s Muscle Buster to Hogan was cool. Hogan’s neckbreaker to Grace via ropes assist was nice. Grace’s bridging deadlift German to Hogan was sweet. Impact Digital Media title was a quite good back-and-forth action match. ROH World title was a good back-and-forth action match. Yehi’s stiff chop & vicious looking repeated double foot stomps to Caballero in the corner was awesome. Keys’ front slam onto the ropes & Caballero’s clothesline combo to Yehi was cool. Keys’ head slams to Yehi onto the mat looked brutal. Williams’ discus clothesline to Keys’ flooring him was cool. Yehi & Williams’ moves combo destruction of Keys was sweet. Williams’ tope rope DDT onto the turnbuckle & Yehi’s release German combo to Keys’ was cool. Yehi & Williams vs. Caballero & Keys was a very good back-and-forth hard hitting action packed match. Gresham’s arm drag counter of Alexander’s Electric Chair setup was nice. Alexander’s spinning Tombstone counter of Gresham’s springboard moonsault was nice. Gresham & Alexander’s forearm strikes exchange was nice. ROH Original World was a very good hard fought actio filled bout despite the questionable double pin finish booking decision. Post-match surprise appearance by Santana & ROH title match challenge was sweet. Terminus’ All Roads Lead Here show was enjoyable overall.

NJPW XTRA (Jan. 17)
* Tomohiro Ishii vs. Brody King – 4.0
Overall – 3.5
Show Notes – The “Week in NJPW” and NJPW Strong Nemesis Night 2 show highlights were all right. Ishii’s ragdoll sell of King’s running shoulder tackle was nice. Ishii & King’s slugfest exchange was nice. Ishii shrugging off King’s loud stiff chops fest in the corner was cool but ouch at Ishii’s chest getting busted open afterwards. Ishii’s headbutt to King into a rebound stiff lariat by King flooring Ishii was sweet. King’s running cannonball in the corner & piledriver combo to Ishii looked brutal. Ishii’s lariats fest & headbutt combo flooring King was cool. King’s Black Hole Slam counter of Ishii’s running lariat was awesome. Ishii’s sliding lariat counter of King’s Gonzo Bomb was nice. Ishii’s Vertical Drop Brainbuster to King was very impressive. Ishii vs. King was a great hard hitting hoss battle. This week’s show was very enjoyable overall.

NJPW Strong Nemesis Night 3 (Jan. 22)

* Team Filthy (“Filthy” Tom Lawlor, Black Tiger, & Jorel Nelson) vs. Rocky Romero, Fred Rosser, & Tyler Rust – 3.0

Show Notes – Isaacs’ lengthy delayed vertical suplex to Riley was cool. Isaacs posing taunts to Riley & the crowd afterwards with tag partner Nelson taking photos was a bit funny. Riley vs. Isaacs opener was a pretty good match. Tito’s single leg back drop to Robinson was cool. Robinson & Tito’s stiff chops exchange on the outside was nice. Robinson’s stiff chops & punches fest to Tito in the corner into Tito returning the favor afterwards was nice. Tito’s back suplex setup into a Blue Thunder Bomb to Robinson was sweet. Tito’s DVD sequence to Robinson was smooth. Robinson’s Pulp Friction to Tito via top rope assist was cool. Robinson’s Northern Lights finisher to Tito was nice. Tito vs. Robinson was a very entertaining back-and-forth hard hitting match. Robinson’s post-match promo calling out JONAH & brawl was all right. Tito ambushing Robinson & becoming pals with JONAH was interesting. Romero’s Tornado DDT to Lawlor looked ugly. Rust’s scissors kick to Black Tiger & Nelson at the same time was nice. Nelson’s pop-up powerbomb to Rust was nice. Nelson & Lawlor’s Heart Attack into a Boston Crab by Nelson to Rosser was cool. Romero’s suicide dive to Black Tiger on the outside was nice. Ouch at Lawlor’s head after getting whiplashed from Rosser’s clothesline over the ropes. 6-Man Tag was a quite good back-and-forth action filled match. This week’s show was enjoyable overall.

Matt Cardona backstage interview about his Impact gold goals & Digital Media title match challenge was decent. Haas’ ROH career vignette was fine. Kaleb taking a selfie with an injured Rosemary at ringside after Influence’s pre-match sneak attack was a bit funny. Influence vs. Havok was a solid match. The IInspiration’s video promo badmouthing The Influence & boasting about themselves was all right. The mystery “Quintessential Diva” debut vignette was interesting. Morrissey’s big boot flooring Dice was nice. Morissey’s brutal looking powerbomb finisher to VSK was cool. Learning Tree vs. Morrissey was a fun jobber destruction bout. Matt Taven & Pals and Scott D’Amore backstage segment about ROH guys just visiting to “enjoy” the show was all right. Maclin’s Olympic Slam to Gresham was nice. Gresham’s springboard moonsault to Maclin was nice. Maclin’s Rock style bouncy sell of Gresham’s top rope shotgun drop kick was a bit funny. Maclin & Gresham’s slaps fest during Gresham’s Figure Four spot was nice. Gresham’s Figure Four pin of Maclin via corner ropes assist was cool. ROH title was a quite good back-and-forth grapple & mat-based heavy bout. Gallows & Doering vs. Heath & Rhino was a solid back-and-forth match despite the ringside ending shenanigans by Deaner. Haas’ Crucifix pin attempt counter of Alexander’s rolling Senton was nice. Haas’ set of German suplexes into Alexander’s own set of German suplex afterwards was nice. Haas vs. Alexander was a good back-and-forth action match. Post-match mass brawl with ROH invaders crew and Chris Sabin & Impact Pals was all right. This week’s show was enjoyable overall.
