Big E vs. Kevin Owens

The Steel Cage is lowering above the ring! We’re kicking the show off with a Steel Cage Match!

Backstage, WWE Champion Big E says Kevin Owens found his way into the WWE Championship match at Day 1, but tonight they’re going to dance inside of a Steel Cage. Owens is a liar and will feel his wrath. Big E makes his way to the ring.

Kevin Owens is shown backstage. Big E may call him a liar, but he’s just holding the WWE Championship for him until he gets it at Day 1. Big E thinks he’s going to put a beating on him and punish him, but the truth is Owens will punish him tonight. That is no lie.

The bell rings, and Owens immediately runs to the door. Big E cuts him off, so Owens tries for a Stunner. Big E pushes him off, but Owens kicks him in the face and goes for the door again. Big E pulls him into the ring and gets him in the corner. Owens boots Big E back and starts to climb to the top of the cage. Big E quickly sweeps the feet and crotches him on the top rope. Big E grabs him by the beard and forearms him in the face. Big E pushes Owens hard against the cage wall twice before punching him. Owens jabs him back and starts to climb again. Big E grabs him and starts to climb the ropes. Owens punches and elbows Big E, but Big E holds on. Big E climbs to the top rope and digs Owens’ head into the steel supports of the cage. They both drop to the canvas with Owens between the ropes and the cage. Big E charges and spears Owens into the cage wall. Big E drives Owens face-first into the cage twice. Owens goes down in a heap. Big E puts Owens between the ropes and goes for another spear, but he hits the cage headfirst when Owens moves.

We come back from the break to see Owens heading toward the cage and starting to climb. Big E stops him, so Owens kicks him back and hits a top rope moonsault block for a near fall! Owens punches away at Big E and hits a senton splash.

Owens gets the WWE Champion to his feet and goes to drive him into the cage wall, but Big E reverses it on him. Big E covers for a two count. Big E heads to the door, but Owens stops him and slams his head into the cage. Owens chokes him on the top rope, and Big E drops to his knees. Owens takes a few moments to collect himself before he starts to climb to the top of the cage. Big E cuts him off and starts to climb up after him. Owens bounces Big E against the cage wall a few times, and Big E falls to the canvas. Owens looks down at the fallen champion before starting to climb again. Big E quickly climbs and goes for an electric chair drop off the top rope, but Owens stops it. Owens hits a sunset flip powerbomb, but Big E kicks out at two!

Owens kicks Big E in the head, and Big E starts to gyrate. Owens peppers him with a few more strikes before charging, so Big E hits him with a pair of belly-to-belly overhead suplexes followed by a belly-to-belly side suplex. Big E gyrates over him and hits the ropes, so Owens desperately crawls toward the door. Big E pulls him back, so Owens superkicks him into the corner. Owens hits a cannonball for a near fall. Owens heads toward the door, but Big E stops him. They trade punches before Owens takes him down and applies a Boston Crab. Big E shouts in pain, but he begins to crawl toward the cage door. Big E is trying to pull himself back, so Owens gets on top of him. All of a sudden, Seth Rollins slams the cage door in both their faces!

We return from the break to see Owens heading toward the top of the cage. At ringside, Seth Rollins is seemingly waiting for whoever wins to emerge so he can attack. Big E and Owens are fighting it out on the top rope. Big E attempts a Big Ending off the top rope, but Owens rips at the eyes and sends him down to the canvas. Owens then crushes Big E with a frog splash for a near fall!

During the commercial break, Big E turned Owens inside out with a vicious whip to the corner. Back to live-action, Owens charges, but Big E knocks him back. Big E follows up with a uranage for a near fall. Big E gets Owens to his feet, but Owens surprises him with a Pop-up Powerbomb for a near fall. Owens makes his way to the corner and starts to climb the cage. Rollins shouts at Big E to get Owens. Owens has his body half over the top. Big E quickly scales the ropes and grabs Owens. Big E pulls Owens back down to the top rope and viciously elbows him in the midsection. Big E then crushes Owens with a Big Ending off the ropes!

Big E slowly crawls over to the corner. The referee opens the door. Big E is so close… but Owens grabs the feet! Big E fights him off and pulls himself out of the cage to win.

Winner by Escaping the Cage: WWE Champion Big E

Rollins immediately attacks the WWE Champion. The cage is quickly raised to the ceiling. Rollins punches away at Big E before attacking Owens in the ring. Rollins goes for a Stomp on Owens, but Big E cuts him off and hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Big E then grabs Owens and hits him with a Big Ending. Big E celebrates with the WWE Championship.

We come back from the break to see Big E, Kevin Owens, and Seth Rollins all gasping for breath and looking destroyed.

During the break, Bobby Lashley speared Big E down. Lashley hit Owens with a flatliner and Rollins took a modified dominator. Lashley hit Big E with a one-armed spinebuster and posed around the ring.


Queen Zelina vs. Nikki A.S.H.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Queen Zelina and Carmella make their way to the ring. Zelina says the Memphis crowd should be happy they’re being graced with their presence. Would they rather cheer a loser like Nikki A.S.H.? Zelina feels sorry for Nikki, especially once she beats her and sends her back to the depths of despair: Memphis, Tennessee.

The bell rings, and they lock up. Zelina powers her to the corner, but Nikki pushes her back. Nikki goes to the second rope, but Zelina rips her off. Zelina attacks Nikki and taunts Ripley at ringside. Zelina hits a hideous knee to the face for a two count. Nikki quickly rolls her up for a two count. Nikki rolls her up a second time for the same result. Nikki slingshots over her and hits a clothesline. Nikki avalanches her and hits a bulldog. Zelina gets out of a scoop slam and rolls Nikki up with her feet on the ropes. The referee catches her and stops counting. Nikki comes back with a neckbreaker and heads to the top rope. Zelina sidesteps a cross-body block and hits Code Red for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Queen Zelina

Rhea Ripley looks disappointed as she gets in the ring to check on Nikki A.S.H. Queen Zelina and Carmella taunt them from the ramp.


Backstage: RK-Bro

Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro are backstage. Riddle is dressed in a blazer with the WWE logo on it and a tuxedo shirt. Kevin Patrick walks up to them and congratulates them on their successful title defense last week. Riddle puts over the RK-Bro-nament. Riddle claims they both came up with it, but Randy Orton denies that. Orton says Riddle talked to him about how Home Alone changed his life. Riddle says they’re going to be special guest hosts and correspondents for tonight. Orton says he never agreed to that. Riddle says he knew Orton would forget his blazer, so Riddle produces another one. Orton says there’s no way in hell he’ll wear it. Riddle says the WWE Universe wants it. The crowd cheers. Orton begrudgingly agrees to wear it. Orton puts on the WWE blazer to cheers.

Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro make their way to the ring wearing matching WWE blazers. AJ Styles and Omos will battle The Street Profits in the first round.


Backstage: Nikki A.S.H., Rhea Ripley, Jerry Lawler

A dejected Nikki A.S.H. is walking backstage with Rhea Ripley. A person says she’s a big fan and wants an autograph. Nikki happily obliges, but the person says they were talking to someone else. Jerry “The King” Lawler walks into the frame, eliciting a HUGE ovation from his hometown Memphis crowd. Lawler signs the autograph. Lawler says Nikki had a tough loss and offers an autograph. Nikki walks away. Lawler asks, “Was it something I said?”


RK-Bro-nament Match
AJ Styles & Omos vs. The Street Profits

Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro are seated at ringside. They’ll be on commentary for this match.

AJ Styles starts against Montez Ford. Ford quickly dropkicks him down. The Street Profits take it to Styles with a double-team splash. Angelo Dawkins hits a big splash for a two count. Dawkins puts Styles in the corner, but Styles turns him around and hits him. Dawkins splashes him in the corner and hits the ropes, but Omos pulls the top rope down to get him out of the ring. Styles then knocks Ford off the apron. Styles then crushes Dawkins with a forearm plancha.

We come back from the break to see Omos viciously whip Dawkins into the corner. Dawkins collapses in pain. Omos hits a scoop slam and wanders around the ring a bit. Omos stomps Dawkins before kneeing him down. Dawkins fights back with a jawbreaker, but that just angers Omos. Omos clotheslines him down and tags Styles in. Dawkins quickly forearms away at Styles, but Styles cuts him off. Dawkins fights at Styles and avoids an avalanche.

Ford tags in and clotheslines Styles before hitting a back elbow. Ford goes for a suplex, but Styles blocks it. Ford rolls him up instead for a two count. Ford superkicks Styles in the midsection and hits a step-up enzuigiri. Styles quickly boots him back. Ford sidesteps Styles and hits a diving clothesline. Ford marches up to Omos and slaps him in the face. Dawkins forearms Omos, and they double-team him to get him off the apron. Styles attacks Dawkins to get him out of the ring. Ford and Styles trade kicks before Styles hits a brainbuster. Styles goes to the apron and waits for Ford to get up. Styles goes for a Phenomenal Forearm, but he’s knocked off the ropes with a blind tag from Omos. Omos clotheslines Dawkins at ringside before slamming Ford on the apron. The referee is counting. Styles signals to Omos, but Omos is too late.

Winners by Count-Out: The Street Profits

AJ Styles is upset and says Omos needs to listen to him. Styles had them beat. Omos angrily walks off on his tag team partner.

Riddle gets in the ring and asks for a comment from AJ Styles. Styles asks if he’s really talking to him. He should be interviewing the winners of the match. Riddle says he’s following the story, plus The Street Profits left too quickly. Riddle asks Styles to explain what’s going on between him and Omos. Styles says it was a disagreement and miscommunication in a great tag team, something Riddle wouldn’t know anything about. Styles threatens him before walking off.

Riddle says that was a great start to the RK-Bro-nament and asks Randy Orton for a comment. Orton grabs a microphone and says, “Nope.” Riddle says things are heating up for this tournament. Orton puts his face in his hands.


Backstage: Becky Lynch

Sarah Schreiber is backstage with Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Lynch says it’s a big night… for Liv. For Liv, it’s the biggest night of her life and the biggest match of her career. Morgan has a ton of momentum, winning last week and hitting her with her finisher. The week before, she sucker-punched her. Lynch says the real battle for Morgan won’t be in the ring. It’ll be in her head and heart. No one really wants Morgan to win. You do well enough, they cheer you. You do too well, they boo you. Morgan is the underdog that hasn’t reached her dreams of living amongst the stars. Lynch is the star. It’s just another Monday for the Raw Women’s Champion.


Backstage: RK-Bro

Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro are backstage. Riddle says Randy Orton should take the crowd on an emotional rollercoaster. Orton takes off his blazer and says his broadcasting days are over for now.


WWE United States Championship
Damian Priest (c) vs. Robert Roode

Roode gets Priest in the corner and punches away at him. Priest grabs him and throws him into the corner. Priest punches away at him before sending him into the ropes. Priest lowers his head and eats a kick. Roode hits the ropes, but Priest clotheslines him down. Priest forearms him in the face before sending him into the ropes for a jumping back elbow to pick up a two count. Priest puts him in the corner and knees away at him. Priest hits a snapmare and kicks him in the spine. Roode sidesteps an avalanche, but Priest quickly responds with a kick to the head. Dolph Ziggler gets on the apron, so Priest gets out of the ring to stalk him. Roode drives Priest into the steel steps and sends him into the crowd. Roode gets in the ring to celebrate.

We come back from the break to see Priest fighting back at Roode. Priest then hits him with a flapjack. Priest gets fired up and hits a leaping back elbow. Roode gets out of a suplex, but Priest quickly responds with a clothesline. Priest kicks him before hitting a Broken Arrow for a near fall. Roode fights back at Priest and hits a backstabber for a near fall. They trade punches and chops before an angry Priest kicks away at him. Priest goes for a springboard, but Roode counters into a Double-R Spinebuster for a near fall.

Roode goes for a Glorious DDT, but Priest fights out. Priest goes for a Reckoning, but Roode gets out. Priest fights back and hits the Reckoning for the win.

Winner by Pinfall and still WWE United States Champion: Damian Priest

Dolph Ziggler quickly superkicks Priest and leaves the ring. Ziggler says Priest is done next time they get to him. Priest angrily looks at Ziggler and Roode.


Bianca Belair vs. Doudrop

Replays are shown of Doudrop attacking Bianca Belair two weeks ago. Last week, Belair slammed her.

Bianca Belair makes her way to the ring. Doudrop attacks her from behind.

Belair dropkicks Doudrop to start, but Doudrop doesn’t go down. Belair shows her up a bit and taunts her. Doudrop takes her down and flattens her with a senton splash. Doudrop takes it to Belair before applying a chin lock. Belair elbows out, but Doudrop quickly takes her down with a short-arm clothesline. Belair gets up in the corner and fights her off with some elbows, but Doudrop quickly drops her with a clothesline for a two count. Belair gets Doudrop out of the ring, but Doudrop soon takes her down and hits a big splash on the floor.

Back from the break, Belair fights back at Doudrop. Doudrop soon takes her down and hits a second rope splash for a near fall. Doudrop is irate and rips at Belair’s hair. Belair flails at her, but Doudrop takes her down. Doudrop goes for a splash, but Belair counters and goes for a KOD! Doudrop slides off and gets out of the ring before walking off. Doudrop is counted out.

Winner by Count-Out: Bianca Belair

Doudrop signals to Belair to kiss her rear end and walks off.


Backstage: Vince McMahon, Austin Theory

Replays are shown of Vince McMahon slapping Austin Theory in the face after trying to train him to expect the unexpected.

A heavily made-up Vince McMahon is backstage. Austin Theory walks in. Theory says he’s doing good, but his face is still sore last week. McMahon says people don’t give a damn when they ask about how you’re doing. McMahon certainly doesn’t. McMahon wants to put him in a match tonight. Theory is excited. McMahon asks if he was expecting that, and Theory says no.


In-Ring: Miz TV with Edge

The Miz is in the ring and says people are probably wondering where Maryse is. Miz does a spot-on imitation of Andy Kaufman saying, “Memphis, Tennessee,” and says she would never come to this town. Last week, he loved that Edge gave him a compliment. Miz then introduces him.

Edge comes out to a huge ovation. Edge says he meant everything he said last week. Miz says that Edge has lost his edge. The old master manipulator would have speared him out of his $9,000 shoes, but mentally he now sounds weak. Edge cannot believe he paid $9,000 for those ugly ass shoes. Miz shouldn’t mistake his kindness for weakness. Miz says he needed Edge’s kindness in 2006 when he was kicked out of the locker room. Everyone knew he had the “IT” factor, but they were just protecting their spots, including Edge. Miz was more popular than everyone in that locker room. Miz doesn’t need Edge’s kindness anymore. Edge says Miz is glossing over key points. It was in this arena when Edge pulled him aside and told him he has something. Miz brushed him off that night. Edge went through the same thing before Miz, but he didn’t walk into the locker room like he was better than anyone. Edge doesn’t hold people down. If “Mike” wants to blame everyone else, he can. Miz needs to look in the mirror and he’ll realize what he should have realized in 2006: Miz is an ass.

Miz says Edge is a hypocrite that Miz has passed by for years. 2022 will be a bad year for Edge and it will start at Day 1. Edge accepts the challenge. However, Edge is standing right here. They’re in Memphis, Tennessee and the only thing between them is opportunity. The crowd gets fired up. Miz declines, but not because he’s afraid. Miz then drops down in fear when Edge makes a move toward him. Edge says he’s scared and walks off.


Backstage: Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan is interviewed by Sarah Schreiber backstage. Morgan says people believe that tonight won’t be Becky Lynch’s night. She’ll get what she wants: the Raw Women’s Championship.


RK-Bro-nament Match
Rey & Dominik Mysterio vs. Alpha Academy

Raw Tag Team Champion Riddle is on commentary for the next match.

Gable quickly takes Dominik down, but Dominik fights back at him. Gable slaps him in the face. Dominik fights back and slaps him in the face before sending him out of the ring. Gable angrily gets back in, and Dominik greets him with a dropkick. Gable makes a comeback and applies a single leg, but Dominik gets out. Dominik stops him from making a tag to Otis and punches away at Gable. Gable reverses a whip to the corner, but Dominik boots him back. Gable quickly grabs the leg and hits a dragon screw. Gable goes to the top rope for a moonsault, but Dominik moves and rolls him up for the win.

Winners by Pinfall: The Mysterios

The Mysterios will face The Street Profits in the finals of the RK-Bro-nament next week on Raw. Riddle gets in the ring to interview Alpha Academy, but Otis flattens him with a slam.


Backstage: Vince McMahon, Austin Theory

Austin Theory is warming up in Vince McMahon’s office. McMahon says Theory isn’t going to have a match since he wasn’t ready when he first told him. Theory will have to find another way to impress him.


Finn Bálor vs. T-Bar

They lock up, and T-Bar clubs him in the back of the head. Bálor fights him off and applies a side headlock. T-Bar whips him off, but Bálor ducks a clothesline. T-Bar catches him trying a running cross-body and slings him away for a two count. T-Bar clubs the chest and bounces him in the corner. T-Bar forearms him and chokes him with his boot. T-Bar hits a backbreaker for a two count. T-Bar applies a chin lock. Bálor fights up, but T-Bar knees him in the face. T-Bar sends him to the corner, but Bálor boots him back. T-Bar reverses a whip and grabs him by the throat. Bálor counters into a victory roll for a two count. Bálor hits a double leg takedown and double stomps him. T-Bar gets out of a Sling Blade and big boots him down for a near fall. T-Bar lifts him, but Bálor slides off and hits a Sling Blade. Bálor goes to the top rope, but T-Bar pops up and grabs him by the throat. T-Bar climbs the ropes, but Bálor elbows him in the neck a few times and sends him down to the canvas. Bálor connects with the Coup de Gras for the win!

Winner by Pinfall: Finn Bálor

After the match, Austin Theory blindsides Bálor and hits an ATL. Theory takes a selfie with Bálor and walks off.


Backstage: Dana Brooke, R-Truth, Akira Tozawa, Reggie

WWE 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke is walking backstage. R-Truth and Akira Tozawa pop up on her, but they say they need to look at the rulebook how they can get the title back. Reggie jumps over to her and says he was impressed. Reggie protects her from Tamina.


Backstage: Bobby Lashley, MVP

Replays are shown of Bobby Lashley attacking WWE Champion Big E, Kevin Owens, and Seth Rollins earlier tonight.

Bobby Lashley and MVP are walking backstage. MVP says it’s disrespectful to not mention Bobby Lashley in a WWE Championship match. Everyone paid the price for disrespect tonight.


Raw Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan

The match begins, and Lynch takes her down with a waistlock. Lynch shouts, “Welcome to the big time!” Lynch applies a side headlock, but Morgan whips her off. Lynch quickly runs her over with a shoulder block. Lynch shouts that Morgan isn’t ready. Morgan charges her, so Lynch gets out of the ring and orders the referee to get Morgan back. Lynch kicks her getting into the ring, but Morgan forearms her. Morgan applies a side headlock, but Lynch whips her off. Morgan shoulder blocks her down and yells at Lynch. Lynch takes her down attempting a leapfrog and goes for a Dis-Arm-Her, but Morgan gets out. Morgan rolls her up, but Lynch bends up a la Trish Stratus. Morgan hits a la magistral cradle for a two count. Lynch bridges up and goes for a backslide. They continue to trade pins before Lynch punches her in the face. Lynch sends her to the corner, but Morgan elbows her in the face. Morgan connects with a missile dropkick before attempting a slingshot double knee, but Lynch moves. Lynch kicks her out of the ring and goes for a baseball slide, but Morgan moves. Morgan hits Lynch with a double knee facebuster on the floor. Morgan gets in the ring and wipes out Lynch with a suicide dive! Morgan grabs her elbow on landing. Morgan gets her in the ring for a near fall.

The commentary team is talking about how Morgan was possibly injured on the suicide dive. Morgan goes to the top rope, but Lynch cuts her off. Lynch hits a superplex, and Morgan screams in pain.

We come back from the break to see Lynch beat on Morgan and leg drop her into the ring for a two count. Lynch applies a chin lock and goes for a takedown, but misses. Lynch hits a reverse DDT for a near fall. Lynch angrily stalks around the ring and misses an avalanche. Lynch pulls her down by the hair and goes to the middle rope. Lynch snaps her off the ropes and slams her on the canvas. Lynch goes to the top rope for a diving leg, but Morgan moves. Lynch lands on her feet and charges, but Morgan hits a step-up enzuigiri to take her down.

Both women are down. Morgan gets up and kicks away at Lynch before hitting a Thesz Press followed by some punches. Morgan hits a running back elbow and a high knee to the face. Morgan goes for the Ob-Liv-ion, but Lynch moves. Morgan kicks her and hits a slingshot double knee facebuster for a near fall. Morgan continues to fight her and hits a missile dropkick for a near fall. Morgan applies a double arm submission, but Lynch counters into a pin attempt. Lynch then transitions into the Dis-Arm-Her, but Morgan gets a foot on the bottom rope. Morgan counters a Manhandle Slam into a roll-up for a near fall. Lynch rolls her up and grabs the bottom rope like she did at Survivor Series to win the match.

Winner by Pinfall and still Raw Women’s Champion: Becky Lynch

Morgan is devastated in the ring, while Lynch celebrates with the title on the ramp.
