More on Monday’s Episode of RAW Affected by WWE’s Recent COVID-19 Outbreak

As noted before, WWE was recently hit with another COVID-19 outbreak resulting in a number of talent and staff testing positive for the virus and being pulled from this past weekend’s house show events. Despite the outbreak, WWE is currently planning on going ahead with their plans for this week’s set of shows and are no longer requiring weekly COVID-19 testing for their talent.

Monday’s episode of RAW featured Vince McMahon and several other high level officials being notably absent backstage during the show due to COVID-19 related issues. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that WWE’s Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis and lead writer Ed Koskey were the key people who were in charge of running last night’s show.

Johnson also reported that WWE’s producers crew was hit hard by the recent outbreak in the company with around half being absent from last night’s episode of RAW. WWE reportedly usually employs around a dozen backstage producers to help run their weekly RAW shows but last night’s show was left with just five producers on hand, who were Chris Park, Shane Helms, Molly Holly, Jason Jordan, and Petey Williams. Jordan reportedly was in charge as the lead producer for the show.

In regards to WWE’s other backstage producers, Johnson reported that both TJ Wilson and Ken Doane will be the producers for this week’s set of SmackDown brand Holiday Tour house show events.

Besides all of the talent who had been pulled from this Sunday’s house show event in Madison Square Garden and were unavailable for Monday’s RAW show, Johnson reported that Omos was also not seen backstage during the show. Johnson reported that Omos had been seen in Detroit earlier in the day but had left to go back to his home prior to the start of the show. The reason for Omos’ absence was not given.
