Owen Hart Cup Announcements Arriving Within the Next Few Weeks
As noted before, AEW recently announced that they have partnered with the Owen Hart Foundation for the development of a new annual Owen Hart Cup tournament.
A recent episode of the My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox podcast had AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan revealing that AEW will be making more announcements regarding their upcoming Owen Hart Cup tournament within the next few weeks.
“I am gonna make announcements [about the Owen Hart Cup] in due time, but I think we’ve got a couple big weekends. It’s unusual doing Dynamite on a Saturday but we always do Rampage Friday night so it’s a great chance to make a go of it.
And I think for when we’re back on Wednesday night Dynamite, I plan to make more announcements about The Owen and I just — when we talked to Martha Hart originally, [Chris] Jericho, who’s another good friend to Barstool and a good friend of mine and Martha Hart’s, put Martha and myself together on Zoom during the pandemic and we Zoomed a bunch of times and built a friendship and I think Martha’s got something really special that she wants to share with the wrestling world which is the legacy of Owen Hart and it’s up to her and she has the choice of what wrestling company, if any, she wanted to work with to disseminate and really help build that indelible legacy of Owen Hart. This really great, important person in the history of pro wrestling and I’m just glad AEW’s gonna be for a long a time, the legacy of Owen and The Owen. This tournament is gonna be really special and we’ll announce more about it but I’m excited to tell you more.”

Scorpio Sky & Aubrey Edwards Sign New Deals with AEW
Scorpio Sky and Aubrey Edwards reportedly have recently signed new multi-year contract extensions with AEW.
During a recent interview with PWInsider, Sky gave his thoughts about working with AEW CEO Tony Khan and revealed that he recently signed a five year contract extension to remain in the company.
“I wish I knew what made him tick. He’s a special kind of guy. He obviously has a vision, which we’ve seen many, many, many times. He’s proven that-that vision is clear and when you see it come to light, good things happen. Good things like AEW, good things like we’ve seen in AEW, the talent he’s been able to attract even before the big names that have come in this year. If you look from day one, bringing in the Young Bucks, bringing in SCU, bringing in Chris Jericho and Cody and Hangman and Kenny, from day one, he’s had his eye on talent. This is a guy that loves the wrestling business, and it comes through like that. He’s not in this business to make money. He’s not in this business for clout. He’s not a money mark. He’s a guy that loves the wrestling business. I think that’s why people got behind AEW and that’s why people get behind Tony. Whenever Tony walks out on the stage, people cheer and bow and chant his name because he’s one of them, and he’s giving the fans what they want to see.
He’s a very, very smart guy. He’s got a memory like no one I’ve ever seen. I mean, you can have a small two-second conversation with him… Two seconds, who can talk in two seconds… But a small 20-second conversation with him in a loud room that you won’t remember the next day, and he’ll remind you of it a month later. ‘Hey, sir, I didn’t forget about this.’ Like, ‘Oh, holy crap. I did. Sorry.’ Working for him is great. I love it. He’s always shown faith in me, and it’s something that I’ve really truly appreciated. He saw something in me very, very early on. He still sees it, evident by the contract extension that I just signed so I’m going to be with AEW for a long, long time. A lot of that comes down to Tony Khan and his vision. There’s nothing more I can say about it. Nothing but good things to say about working for a guy like that.
I did that right around the time of the Pay-Per-View [signed the extension]. I’m happy to be with AEW for at least five more years.”
During a recent episode of the Into The Danger Zone with Chris Denker podcast, Edwards revealed that she had recently signed a contract extension to remain in AEW for the foreseeable future.
“Unless you’re in the discussion about the match, you don’t fully understand all of the things that are being talked about, right? And ultimately if the wrestlers I work with are happy and my bosses are happy, and you know, I got a contract extension this year so clearly I’m doing something good. Let me just drop that in there [Aubrey laughed].”

WWE Reportedly Leaking AEW Rampage Preliminary Ratings
WWE reportedly has been leaking the fast national or preliminary television ratings for AEW Rampage shows in recent weeks, according to Voices of Wrestling.
It was reported that WWE was revealed to be the source of the recent leaks of early ratings numbers for AEW Rampage shows these past few weeks based on one of their sources. It was also reported that this was later confirmed by a wrestling news outlet who had been receiving early ratings numbers for Rampage from WWE officials. It was also reported that WWE did not start doing this until after Rampage’s ratings had started to level off and decline post-CM Punk’s AEW debut show.
Here's the scoop. WWE is leaking the Rampage fast nationals. This was tipped off to us and then confirmed by at least one of the outlets that has been reporting them. Come up with your own motivations, but that's who is feeding it to the news sites.

It's also notable that these leaks weren't happening until Rampage began to level off. Find me a fast nationals headline for the Punk return or Rampage being #1 on cable. WWE can only claim AEW isn't competition for so long. P.R. leaks and 2.5 hour Smackdowns were inevitable.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources confirmed that WWE has been leaking their rival’s early ratings numbers to the wrestling news outlets and haven’t done a good job at hiding their efforts.
I've reported countless stories about WWE and other companies that emerged elsewhere. You have to verify it though. The effort was obvious though.

WWE was previously revealed to have been the source behind the embellished report about Domino’s being furious at TNT and AEW over a pizza cutter incident during the July 29th episode of AEW Dynamite.
