Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that one main reason for NXT’s increase this week was due to it having a much stronger than usual lead-in programming key demographic viewership on USA Network. In an interesting note, Meltzer reported that the inverse happened with this week’s show overrun where it barely had any new viewers tuning in to the next show on USA Network and actually lost viewers overall.

In terms of head-to-head competition, the US Open tennis game drew 687,000 viewers on ESPN.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW suffering a huge drop in viewership was to be expected following last week’s very hyped up debut of CM Punk. Meltzer reported that AEW’s show that week being taped instead of being live likely contributed to some of its decline as well due to spoilers being leaked in advance. Despite the decline in key demographic ratings, Meltzer reported that AEW’s show that week still performed way above TNT’s average of around 0.14 for the 10PM timeslot prior to Rampage’s launch.
