AEW All Out 2021 Media Call: All Out 2021, Trios Title, AEW Roster, CM Punk, Women’s Division, More

AEW CEO Tony Khan held a media call this past Thursday to promote this Sunday’s All Out 2021 event.

Some of the notable highlights included:

  • Khan stated that he believes the card for All Out 2021 is the best pay-per-view card he has put together so far for an AEW event.
  • Khan stated he he has put eight figures of his own money into the development of AEW’s video game for consoles. Khan also stated that AEW was not making that much money from Dynamite at the start but they got a big financial boost from the additional $175 million TNT has given to them for the next four years.
  • Khan confirmed the reports of AEW Dark tapings moving to a new studio locations at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. He also praised the talent who have been working on Dark and Dark Elevation and the shows being a great source of scouting for the company.
  • On the topic of adding a Trios Championship, Khan stated that it would be a great addition but for the time being they already have a lot of stuff for their three hours of weekly television. He also stated that he did used to book more trios matches in the past, especially during AEW’s stay at Daily’s Place, and a Trios title would make a lot of sense for them to do.
  • On the topic of intentional touring, Khan stated that he does have plans to tour the United Kingdom next year. He also stated that he wants Fullham’s Craven Cottage stadium to become the home for AEW in the United Kingdom.
  • On the topic of AEW’s roster, Khan stated that he does not believe in the idea of a full roster and instead is more focused on AEW having roster that can be constantly changed and evolves over time. He also stated that not every new signing needs to be at the level of a CM Punk or Jon Moxley star status and mentioned Daniel Garcia and 2point0 as being recent signings that have been a valuable addition and filled the need AEW had for their spots.
  • On the topic of AEW’s working partnerships with other companies, Khan stated that he feels it has been good for both the fans and AEW’s partners. Khan also stated that he has done a lot of favors for AEW’s partners and regardless if they pay off in the future, he values the good karma it brings to the company.
  • On the topic of CM Punk Khan stated that he has enjoyed collaborating with Punk on ideas and the building of a working relationship between the two. Khan also stated that he felt Punk was doing some stuff prior to his retirement in 2014 that did not make sense for him to do and told him if the same ever happened in AEW for Punk to talk to him first so they can change some ideas. Khan stated he has the same mentality towards others in the company so they are not put them in a bad place for their careers or fans.
  • On the topic of AEW’s Women’s division, Khan stated that it is still a work in progress but feels it will improve with more focus and attention over time. He praised Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa as those who have improved their wrestling skills and star status within the division. He also stated that he was very excited over the crowd reaction Anna Jay got for her return at this past week’s episode of Dynamite.
  • On the topic of the TNT Championship, Khan stated he does not share the same views as others who see it as just a mid-card belt in AEW. Khan stated that the only people who have held the belt have been main eventers or protected stars.
