Becky Lynch Backstage at Money in the Bank
Becky Lynch will be at least backstage at this Sunday’s Money in the Bank PPV in Fort Worth, Texas, according to PWInsider.
Johnson reported that it is currently not known if Lynch will be making her return on camera but as of Thursday morning, the plan was for her to at least be in attendance backstage during the event.
Lynch has been out of action for the company since May of 2020 due to maternity leave reasons.
More NXT Talent Reportedly Worked Dark Matches at WWE’s SmackDown Tapings
Several more NXT developmental talent reportedly were invited backstage by WWE officials at this past Friday’s television tapings of Friday Night SmackDown in Houston, Texas, according to PWInsider and Fightful.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that those invited backstage were Xia Li, Aliyah, Austin Theory, and Odyssey Jones.
Fightful’s Gisberto Guzzo reported that all four worked in two dark matches prior to the start of Friday’s SmackDown show. Theory competed in a tag team match with Harry Smith (formerly known as Davey Boy Smith Jr.) against Jones and Xyon Quinn. Li competed against Aliyah in the other dark match that took place.
WWE Cancels Atlanta Location for September 17th SmackDown Event
WWE reportedly recently changed the location for their previously scheduled September 17th SmackDown event in Atlanta, Georgia, according to the host venue for the event.
The State Farm Arena recently announced on Twitter that the September 17th episode of Friday Night SmackDown will no longer be taking place at their venue nor in the city of Atlanta. No official reason was given for the decision by WWE but the venue announced that they are currently accepting refunds for tickets purchased for the show.
