Natalya is expected to be out of action for only a few weeks after suffering an ankle injury on this Monday’s Raw, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
In a tag match with her and Tamina taking on Eva Marie and Doudrop, there was a cradle spot where Doudrop landed on Natalya’s ankle, bending it in a very awkward way. Natalya couldn’t put weight on her ankle and quickly tagged out and didn’t wrestle the rest of the match, then had to be helped to the back.
She had an MRI done and the results apparently came back better than expected, the Observer says. If she’s only going to be out for a few weeks, it likely means that she won’t need to undergo surgery.
Thank you to everyone for the kind words about what happened on #WWERaw.
There are the beatings you can plan for, and the ones you can’t. That’s the job. But I’m willing to give whatever bones, muscles and tendons I have to continue doing what I love. Good thing I’m UNBREAKABLE. pic.twitter.com/2K18Lj6IgE— Nattie (@NatbyNature) July 28, 2021
You can see when the injury happened at around the 0:55 mark in the video below:
Update
Natalya tweeted today that she will be undergoing surgery for the injury.
Today my surgeon told me that I’m an anomaly. It’s been an intense week to say the least. All I asked was to be put back in the fight and FAST. Surgery will fix me, defending our championships will drive me. #UNBREAKABLE pic.twitter.com/KUfeVnPBoH

WWE also said that there’s “more on this to come” on Raw on Monday, which sounds like they could possibly strip her and Tamina of the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles.
Get well soon, @NatbyNature!
More on this to come this Monday on #WWERaw. https://t.co/8lOiIeQz0Q

It’s unclear if she’ll still only be out for “a few weeks” now that surgery is required. In her tweet, she did say, “All I asked was to be put back in the fight and FAST,” so it’s possible that she isn’t expecting to be out for too long.
