AEW has sold over 10,000 tickets in about the first two hours of the pre-sale today for their debut in the United Center in Chicago on Friday, August 20.
AEW announced “Rampage: The First Dance” in Chicago this past Wednesday on Dynamite and hinted that it could feature the debut of CM Punk. After Tony Schiavone made the announcement, the cameras zoomed in on the crowd chanting “CM Punk.” And immediately afterwards, Darby Allin did a backstage promo saying that he wanted to wrestle “the best in the world.”
Pre-sale tickets went on sale this morning and almost all quickly sold out, even as AEW added more tickets as the day went on. The official sale for the general public will be this Monday.
A small amount of remaining pre-sale tickets are on sale here using pre-sale code AEWUC.
The United Center seats about 23,000, but as usual with wrestling shows, the number of seats may be lower because large portions of the arena behind the stage may not be open.
Below is a screenshot of the initial seats that were open for sale during today’s pre-sale, via WrestleTix. Pretty much every seat sold out within two hours, and new seats were then opened up.
After going through the second by second numbers as sections were being opened up, AEW sold more than 10,000 tickets today so far for the The First Dance at the United Center.
