WWE & NJPW Partnership Talks Status Reportedly Grown Cold
As noted before, WWE held talks with New Japan Pro Wrestling earlier this year in regards to a potential working partnership between both companies.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources close to the situation stated that the status of the talks between both companies is currently assumed to have gotten colder and not hotter in recent weeks.
Meltzer also reported that there have been no indications that any potential partnership deal has already been signed and is being kept as a closely guarded secret based on those same sources.
WWE Reportedly Considering Bringing Back Themed Shows for Return of Touring Plans
WWE reportedly is currently considering plans to hold more themed specials for their RAW and SmackDown brands as part of their resumption of touring plans, according to WrestleVotes.
It was reported that some of the potential themed shows currently being considered by WWE officials are King of the Ring, a new Old School episode of Monday Night Raw, and Cyber Sunday. It was also reported that WWE officials are also considering holding these specials either in late 2021 or early 2022.
Hearing WWE is potentially looking at more ‘themed’ live shows upon returning to the road. Old School RAW, KOTR tourney, Viewers Choice ala Cyber Sunday all possible for late 2021, early 2022.

Former MLW Talent Salina De La Renta Reportedly Invited to Performance Center
Former Major League Wrestling talent Salina De La Renta reportedly was recently seen at WWE’s Performance Center, according to Fightful Select.
It was reported that De La Renta was seen training at the Performance Center this past Monday although it is currently not known if her training “consisted of in-ring, workouts, tryouts or promo class.”
It was also reported that WWE is currently expected to offer De La Renta a contract with the company due to them being interested in her since her departure from MLW this past May.
