More on WWE NXT Viewership for June 1
The June 1st episode of WWE NXT saw NXT suffer a sizable decline in overall viewership but rose substantially in key demographic ratings.
NXT drew 668,000 viewers and a 0.19 key demographic rating on USA Network. NXT’s key demographic ranking for that week’s show reportedly was fourteenth place.
This week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided more details for that week’s NXT show.
Dave Meltzer reported that the reason for NXT’s rise in key demographic rating was due to their male 18-49 viewership being up huge for that week. Meltzer reported that when factoring in same day DVR viewership up to 3AM EST, the split for that week’s episode reportedly was 595,000 live viewers and 73,000 DVR viewers.
In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 255,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest increase was with their Males 35-49 group at 70% higher than the prior week’s show. NXT’s sole decrease was with their Females 18-34 group at 4.5% lower than last week’s show. Meltzer reported that due to the huge gains with their key demographic male viewership, NXTs show skewed much younger than the prior week.
In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was down 6.6% for overall viewership and down 0.8% in key demographic viewership.
WWE NXT started off with around 628,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Adam Cole & Karrion Kross in-ring promo segment and the Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell interview segment which gained 71,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the Legado del Fantasma interview segment, the Hit Row, Killian Dain, & Drake Maverick parking lot segment, and the beginning of the LA Knight vs. Jake Atlas match which lost 46,000 viewers. NXT’s overrun gained an additional 26,000 viewers to end the night.
More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for June 4
The June 4th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW suffer a sizable drop in overall viewership. That week’s show was notable for being the second week in a row Dynamite aired on a Friday due to TNT’s current NBA Playoffs commitments.
AEW drew 462,000 viewers and a 0.19 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that week’s show reportedly was ninth place.
This week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided more details for that week’s AEW show.
Dave Meltzer reported that AEW’s show that week generated the lowest ever overall viewership and key demographic rating in series history. Meltzer reported that AEW’s gains in their 18-34 key demographic viewership were offset by the huge decline in their Females 35-49 viewership for that week. When factoring in same day DVR viewership up to 3AM EST, the split for that week’s episode was 379,000 live viewers and 83,000 DVR viewers.
In an interesting note, Meltzer reported that around 15.61% of those who watched at least one second of WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown show that night also watched AEW’s show.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 247,000 viewers. AEW’s sole increase was with their Females 18-34 group at 100% higher than the prior week’s show. AEW’s biggest decrease was with their Females 35-49 group at 39.5% lower than the prior week’s show. Meltzer reported that despite the small drop in key demographic ratings, AEW’s show skewed younger than the prior week’s show.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 36.8% for overall viewership and down 34% in key demographic viewership.
AEW Dynamite started off with around 549,000 viewers and their sole gain of the night was the Cody Rhodes & Lee Johnson vs. Anthony Ogogo & QT Marshall match and the Stadium Stampede highlights video package which gained 10,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Mark Henry interview segment and the Andrade El Idolo debut promo segment which lost 75,000 viewers.
