More on WWE NXT Viewership for April 27

The April 27th episode of WWE NXT saw NXT suffer a sizeable decline in overall viewership but also saw a sizable rise in the key demographic rankings.

NXT drew 744,000 viewers and a #11 ranking in the 18-49 demographic on USA Network.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this week’s show was the lowest in terms of overall viewership since the March 31st episode when they were still in head-to-head competition with AEW.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 283,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest increase was with their Females 18-34 group at 19.2% higher than last week’s show. NXT’s biggest decrease was with their Males 35-49 group at 11.5% lower than last week’s show.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was up 16.8% in overall viewership and up 37.5% in key demographic viewership.

WWE NXT started off with around 752,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Austin Theory vs. Bronson Reed post-match stuff, the MSK & KUSHIDA interview segment, The Way interview segment, and the start of the Imperium vs. Killian Dain & Drake Maverick match which gained 59,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the Raquel Gonzalez & Merecdes Martinez brawl, the Ember Moon, Shotzi Blackheart, & Frankie Monet backstage segment, the Cameron Grimes jewelry store segment, and the Grizzled Young Veterans and Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher promo segment which lost 70,000 viewers.


More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for April 28

The April 28th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW suffer a very large drop in overall viewership.

AEW drew 889,000 viewers and a #10 ranking in the 18-49 demographic on TNT.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that very stiff competition from news programming covering President Biden’s Address to Congress and a very weaker than usual lead-in programming on TNT were the main causes for AEW’s viewership decline this week. In regards to head-to-head competition from sports, the NBA game of Los Angeles Lakers vs. Washington Wizards on ESPN drew 920,000 viewers, a 0.34 key demographic rating, and a #8 key demographic ranking.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 428,000 viewers. All four of AEW’s key demographic groups were down with the biggest decline being their Males 35-49 group at 16.5% lower than last week’s show.

In terms of the million viewers mark, Meltzer reported in Thursday’s Daily Update that there were several moments during the Pinnacle and Inner Circle Parlay promo segment where AEW’s overall viewership topped 1 million viewers.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was up 28.3% in overall viewership and up 22.2% in key demographic viewership.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 803,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the ending of the Orange Cassidy vs. Penta El Zero M match, the Britt Baker interview segment, and the bulk of the Inner Circle & Pinnacle Parlay promo segment which gained 84,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the ending of the Inner Circle & Pinnacle Parlay promo segment, the Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, & others in-ring segment, and the Taz & Christian backstage promo segment which lost 74,000 viewers.
