WWE Senior Vice President Departs from Company for EA

WWE Senior Vice President, Programming and Media Operations Craig Tello recently announced on his LinkedIn profile that he will be leaving the company for a new job at video game company Electronic Arts.

“Days left in this year of infamy and I’m focused not just on a new “chapter,” but a whole new “book” in 2021. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Tello had been among those furloughed by the company this past April due to financial-related issues over the coronavirus pandemic and was not brought back to the company in recent months.

Prior to his departure, Tello had been with WWE since February of 2010.

Pat McAfee Comments on Competing in NXT’s WarGames Match

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast had Pat McAfee as the guest. One of the topics discussed included his thoughts on getting to compete in a WarGames match at NXT’s TakeOver: WarGames 2020 event earlier this month.

“After Sunday night’s WarGames, I must admit, I don’t know if I fully understood what I was signing up for. Okay, there was a moment before that match backstage where the boys and I were getting ready to go out there and I’m pretty calm, cool, you know, excited for what’s about to go down and there’s like smelling salts, there’s some pacing going on, there’s a lot of it — it feels like you — the tension was palpable back there… and I was just kind of chilling, and then after going through one, I kind of understand why there was so much tension backstage. I mean my body was beat to hell, shoulder was completely bruised. My neck, we thought we potentially had a T1-T2 after coming off the top flatback and basically off the top of the cage and obviously the test came back and I’m good but the body’s sore, I got a broken toe, feels like I sprained my ankle somehow. I obviously had put on weight since then so I’ve been allergic to everything that’s been going on. It was an ass beating for sure and I didn’t get pinned so, I mean [I’m] still wondering about the results of it all.”

WWE Files Several New Trademarks

WWE recently filed several new trademarks to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Trademarks for “Nash Carter“, “Wes Lee“, “Shi Zui“, “Shi Gun”, and “Tian Sha” were filed on December 24th for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes.
