Kenny Omega, Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone all appeared on tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling.
Tony Khan & Tony Schiavone
Khan and Schiavone appeared early in the show via a “paid ad.” Schiavone introduced Khan as the owner of AEW.
Khan, in a somewhat heelish promo, said that if he wanted to stop Omega from appearing on Impact, he could, but instead, he thought he’d help fund the show via this paid ad.
He said that he didn’t like how Omega won the title, but Don Callis is still welcome to come to Dynamite tomorrow with Omega.
He then promoted the card for tomorrow’s Dynamite and joked that there are rumors that he might even buy Impact Wrestling.
Khan then said that Schiavone spent some time in Impact too. Schiavone joked, “Yeah, one night and I quit the business for 18 years.”
Kenny Omega
Throughout the show, they hyped that Josh Mathews would be interviewing Omega later from inside Omega’s trailer, which was parked in the Impact parking lot.
The interview came at around 9:49 PM, with about 11 minutes left in the show.
Mathews went to the trailer and was met by Omega and Don Callis, who were both acting cocky and wearing sunglasses.
Callis did most of the talking early on, and said that he was going to give Impact a treat, doing the ceremonial changing of the AEW World Championship name plates on air.
Callis went through his history with Omega, saying that he has looked out for Omega throughout his life like an “invisible hand.”
Mathews asked Omega about him winning the AEW title by hitting Jon Moxley with a microphone and Omega said that his “gentlemen’s agreement” with Moxley was out of the window when Moxley laid his hands on his father figure Callis.
Omega then brought up the question, “Why Impact Wrestling?” He said that as a kid, he used to collect rare comics, but then he found a new hobby and now he has the most valuable prize of them all, the AEW World Championship. Omega then said that he loves to travel and teased that he might even collect a few other championships in his spare time, including the Impact World Championship.
Omega then said that he’ll have a “big announcement” tomorrow night on Dynamite and did his “good night, bang” trademark sign off.
While most of the show tonight was taped weeks ago, Omega’s segment was taped in Nashville on Saturday, according to PWInsider.
Rich Swann
Impact also teased a potential match between Omega and Impact World Champion Rich Swann.
Before the Omega interview, Swann was shown backstage trying to leave the building, but was told that the parking lot was blocked off by “the champion” Kenny Omega and Swann couldn’t enter because he wasn’t on the list.
It looks like we might see a “belt collector” gimmick for Kenny Omega soon. He’s currently also the AAA Mega Champion, AAA’s top title.

During the Omega segment, there were about 52,500 live viewers at once on Twitch, which is far, far more than the 1,000 or so concurrent viewers that Impact usually gets for their shows on Twitch.
